How we are using the players who come into the side each week highlights a question mark of why we even decided to put the player in the side. Have seen this with Carlos / Banister / JR / Possibly Wiggins and Kennedy today and i am sure other players have been included and showed very little and then are dropped back into the Bullants only to dominate the game. So why do they go back and play so well in the Bullants and then flounder at Senior level.. Yes there is a gap between how the Senior team plays vs the Bullants competition but players doing well in the VFL should be doing better at senior level. From what i can see when we bring these players into the Seniors they dont seem to play the position they are used to in the Bullants and get played all over the place and off and on the bench. Its no wonder they get a couple of stats and lack confidence. Seen this of JR ... Kenedy today and Carlos. The criteria we should have in picking players if we are going to put em in the team will be you will get at least half a game and you will be responsible for a position. Hopefully we will use you in the same role you have been playing in the Bullants. Why Has Murphy done well besides him being a talent he is also playing a position and given good time on the field. Bannister - he has been great in attacking off half back as a loose defender use him in this role he was obviously confident when he played in the Bullants. I dont even know what position he has been playing in the seniors. Kennedy - Playing FF play him there and get him to feel he is given the responsiblity give him a proper spell and dont have him flood back keep him in the forward line. give him half a game at least regardless of errors . JR - Been playing attacking Half / back also in and under play him there and let him do what he has been doin in the Bullants not on and off the bench no chance he going to be settled. This should be the philosiphy we use on the inclusions new kids or someone who is proving themselves in the Bullants. Give them proper game time and responisbility of a position. Example of next weeks team vs the Bombers Pick the team based on who we bring in to share roles with players in the main list Example depending on the team match up with opposition Back line: Banister / Bryan / Thornton Half Backline: JR / Whits / Walker Centre line: Fisher / Blackwell / Simmo Half Forward: Waite / Fev / Houla Forward line: Betts / Kenedy / Prender Ruck: French / Stevo / Murphy Interchange: Carrots - For backline or centre changes Magrath / Longmiuir - For tagging forward or back interchanges Wiggins - For Centre or Forward changes Scotland - for centre rotations with Stevo / Simmo / Murphy Player Outs Kouta - take 2-3 weeks off and think about what you want to do Maclaren - Replaced by Bryan Bentick - maybe has an injury give him a break for 1-2 weeks Lappin - maybe carrying a injury give him a break Saddo - Give Banister the role for a couple of weeks Player ins Blackwell - Fresh from some good games in the bullants Bryan - In for Maclaren for the big backmen / Ruck backup JR - For lappin Prender - for Kouta should happen but wont Magrath or Longmuir - give one a proper 3-4 week stint in the seniors. This is only an example but when you loose 5 games in a row may as well try something new and bring players in to cover positions so you can change similar with similar. Also Keep a roattion of Simmo / Scotalnd / Murphy / Stevo so there are fresh legs. Anyway i think now we may as well try some new things and make sure we give players a minimum of half a game ie Kennedy / JR / Longmuir / Prender ect not pull on and off the bench |

not bad points u make. there certainly is no reason to give the young guys a go for 30 minutes...out of position...tagging somebody. why is everyone a defender with pagan? o yeah, cos he loves defensive games where we lose anyway. light is at the end of the tunnel, but its a long tunnel and the light is pretty dim. |

I do confess that after doing this list i was struggling to find many options for in and under Midfielders .... seems at the Blues we have a good abundance of outside midefielders but lack in and under midfielders. If i looked at a list would be Bentick / Blackwell - both key in and under players. Kouta - was a key clearance player in the packs now we just put him in the forward line or try and find a position for him Carrots - maybe a role for him JR - maybe another option as he seems to have some Mongrel in him. Betts - maybe needs more trial in this role Not sure after this list of who else we have for the in and under role |
