The game plan is completely different.... no more flooding, no more 8 man backlines (not bagging the tactic, everyone does it)... but being prepapred to trust an open forward line and licking to advantage as much as possible.
It is not always possible to fully appreciate coaches strategies and game plan from TV coverage of the game. But from what I have seen I think Molsey is spot on. About three weeks ago I remember thinking during the game that the tactics had changed dramatically and that they now suit our playing personnel better.
Has Denis decided to shelve the paddock at least until we have a CHF in the calibre of Wayne Carey?
Do we now think that a high powered shoot out gives us more chance of winning than the flooding/shut down opposition style game plan?
I agree that Fishers return has given us more flexibility and an extra quality option up forward, and moving Lance to the back line gives Waite the responsibility that his talent demands. Also giving Carrazzo, Simpson and Bentick a run in the midfield has been a plus.
I would like to see Walker there as well but maybe a couple of more senior players have been given a last chance to save their spots.
