But, perhaps we could do:
Whitnall -> Dogs
Hahn -> Brisbane
T.Selwood + pick -> Carlton

or

Whitnall + pick 18 -> Dogs
Hahn + pick 9 -> Carlton

What about
Whitnall + Houlihan + Norman -> Dogs
Minson + Hahn -> Carlton

I'd throw everything at getting Willy into the navy blue.

That's not bad, actually.

If we chuck in the Houl and Norman, we might get pick 9 as well!

TOO EASY

Molsey - I'll try the Veale later... he'll be here all week

I am trying to sell:

Lance -> MFC
Yze -> Sydney
pick 15? -> Carlton

or you can cut out Sydney and take Yze direct.

Interesting one Old55, I think we had a big go at Yze a few years back. I would have thought he was a player the Dees would want to retain, why do you want him out?

he's a 77 birth... so he'd turn 29 next year sometime.

I'd take that swap with Sydney for Yze... maybe they can chuck in something else as well, coz Yze is a fair prize.

Yze would be an ok get for us, if he had a bit more grit about him. A ready-made leader at the club... I dunno. doubt it.

at 29 he's not worth it for us I reckon. Would Sydney bother with him either? hard to see anyone giving up a first rounder for someone of that age.

Reckon you'll have to do a tad better than that Old55.

Why doesn't some-one ask Old55 why Yze has spent so much time forward this year?

To answer your question Old55....NO THANKS.

I'd like to keep Lance but if he wanted to go Paul Chapman and a 1st or 2nd round pick or a straight swap for Harley. I still would rather keep him.

The short answer is that we have too many classy outsiders: Yze, Bruce, Johnstone, Green and we are lacking mature hard insiders and KPPs.
We should give part of our surplus to address our deficiency and Yze is the oldest.

I agree that Carlton should not take Yze direct, but Sydney with Paul Williams and Maxfield nearly done could really utilise him. I think that pick 15 looks like about the right deal.

I don't see Melbourne trading Yze he has had a very good year and has been a great player for Melbourne.
Lance is worth more than pick 15. He is playing better than Thompson and Ottens.

Lance and Thompson have had similar years. Difference is Thompson plays in a top team, Lance plays in one of the worst sides of all time and most of the time in the hardest position. I'll take Lance.

[quote="ballistic blues"]Lance will stay for 350k from his own mouth. Really Really Really wants to stay at Carlton [quote]

I hope so! I think this is the best deal so far!

In actual fact i want him to be our Captain with J. Waite as VC!

I'd rather trade Stevens than Lance!

Lance headed West.... West Coast or Western Bulldogs.

How ? well we trade North, i.e either with Sydney Brisbance or Kangaroos

Does this make any sense ? Think long and hard about it ....

Who and what can we gain from any of these mentioned clubs ??

Now there's some food for thought.

Do i know who ? No bloody idea. The moral of this story?

It may not be as simple as we think... :-D :-D :-D :-D

Nope, sorry gang! I am deadly serious.

Lance for Captain, Waite for V.C.

Perhaps i'm not totally serious about the whole Nick Stevens trade thing, but if the right deal came up.............for Example........

Collingwood get a PP and offer us pick 6 and pick 25...........i would certainly consider it!

I'm sick of Stevens automatically being spoken as our next captain when in all honesty, he has been the most dissapointing player this year for what we have invested in him!

Improvments!

Kouta:- HUGE improvment on last year AND the year before that and will be fighting it out with Waite for a 2nd B&F! Easily be our Top Brownlow poller!

Waite:- The biggest improvment of them all!

Carrazzo:- One of the more exciting things to happen to Carlton all year!

Simpson:- Scared everybody at the start (including me) but in the last 6 games has averaged approx 18possesions! - the majority of this 'Gathered'......NOT 'Recieved!'

Whitnall:- Played an enormous part in our Wizzard Cup win and has had his best season since 2001! Has been asked the world off being sent up forward, down back and even sometimes in the ruck.......and i believe he has done the club proud.

Dissapointments:-

Teauge:- Still shows courage but nowhere near the player he was last year.

Fevola:- Should have surpassed last seasons tally weeks ago - hard to believe he hasn't even notched up 50goals........but injury could be an excuse!

Prenda:- Well, i don't need to say anything to this except "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY CLUB!"

Campo:- Has shown no passion for the club or the game and is quite frankly insulting all Carlton fans in having the Vice Captains role!

Stevens:- I remember watching the Hawthorn game at the start of the year when he had 6 clangers and handed Hawthorn goals on more than one occasions. Had the worst game ever yet 'Recieved' around 30 possesions.............so i was furious when he got votes in the paper the next day!
Has done nothing to prove himself worthy of the title of Captain for this proud club with over 100 years of history.
Has done nothing to warrant a $500k a year pay packet!

He may have silky smooth skills and some leadership qualities - but he has not yet earnt the right to lead this club!

In regards to Whitnall as Captain................well, it wasn't until the Richmond match a few weeks back where i was sitting front row and pretty much heard eveything Lance said to the players! Directing the back-line, encouraging the kids, giving them confidence when they were down......................Sure Kouta had a great game, and i love him, but Lance played a big part in the leadership of that side!

Yet stevens, gathering 25+ possesions and getting a couple of goals, will get all the attention.

Far too often attention is given to those who rack up possesions when in actual fact, the game is so much more than that. Lance has the ability to lead these kids and can play a mojor part in the rebuilding of our football team.

Whats more, with Waite as Vice Captain under Lance, well - think of the benifits.

Stevens to me is a good 'Recieving' midfielder who is great in a great team, but inconsistant in a struggling one.

Personally, i;d like to see Kouta Captain for another year. He, more so than any other on our list, has earnt the right to be seen as a Captain for this great club.

Waite would be a great option, but is still developing confidence and skill - given the captaincy would put far to much preasure on him. Another 4 years under a good captain would be best! Whitnall has the brains and the ability to act almost as an on-field coach to this young team.
