Could it be a permanent end? Libba was not totally convincing in Fev staying at Carlton on SEN this morning. When quizzed on what he would do if he was head coach, Libba obviously said no comment, but signalled he was not impressed by Fevola at all. Correct me if I'm wrong but one comment was along the lines "It is in Fevs hands to show he wants to play for Carlton".

yeah heard Libba, think they are pushing Fev hard. If a trade is found and Fev agrees, do not be surprised, but I also think the injury was a battkeground - I think they wanted Fev to admit he was hurting, to take responsibility for it, until he did they kept playing him, asking him to grow up etc. That's my take on it.

Libba was asked what he'd say to Fev and he replied he felt it was beyong talking, they had tried that and it hadn't worked. They are not happy with Fev it would seem.

Heard Libba on the radio as well, despite his new contract, if the trade is right Fev could be gone. Although probably agree he'll be given one year to prove himself as a marquee player.

PAgan's press conference after the Bombers slaughter...along the lines of we have a diffrent understanding of the fundamentals of footbal.....Yeeesshh??

I would say Fev, Pagan and Carlton have been lucky to NOT be under enormous scrutiny all week!!!
Thanks Tony Jones and a few cracker games

How ironic would it be if Fev goes and Lance/Campo stays.

Maybe they should ring Fev up and ask him what he thinks of Libba....I'd be getting rid of Libba...cant believe some are still thinking about trading Fevola. He is our only matchwinner, is now our best known player in marketing terms and of the few kids who wear carlton gurnseys these days most would have his number on their backs.
Where are we going to find another Fullforward with his ability?..I reckon you back Pagan in to sort out Fevs problems and get him fit and you will see results...be glad to see libba go..if his contribution to our efforts this year has included being tackling coach as some have suggested then he should be fired...

Elwood the point was it may be that Pagan and co are losing the battle with Fev. Hopefully its just been a long, long season and with breaks, refreshign everyone can return to the club and get moving again.

I agree we need fev, the club agree (hence the new deal) but all does not seem to be rosy at the club between the coaching staff and fev.

Then again this could all be bum fluff that will blow away on tomorrow's fart.

That's not irony - that's a nightmare of the highest order.

Still, if the right deal were struck...?

I'm a firm believer that everyone's on the table regardless.

If West Coast were offered 5 first rounders in next year's draft they'd have to think about it wouldn't they?

Interesting Libba's talking about Fev rather than Campo/Lance or anyone else for that matter. If he know's he's on the outer could there be an element of mischief making in it perhaps?

He always was a little shit... :P

Fair enough Fev and the coach/staff may not be getting on but I reckon Fev is hard done by sometimes...has played with injury, re-signed for less bucks than he could have got elsewhere and been on the end of a woeful midfield for most of the year...my body langauge and general outlook on proceedings wouldnt be to flash either if I was Fev
Hopefully your right Danny..new season, fresh group of players including some good ones, a messiah or two and Fev can settle down down to married and footbal life with less problems.....or is that married life with more problems

Getting rid of Fev would be just pure lunacy.

We have a guy that for all his sins is a proven goalkicker. This year he's kicked 49 goals whilst clearly suffering from injury, being double teamed by the opposition and on the end of atrocious delivery of the ball from our midfield.

It would be a nightmare if we traded him away, worked our guts out for years and finally got ourselves back up to a level where we are competing for a premiership yet found ourselves in a position where we just can't pull it off because we do not have a full forward capable of kicking the goals.

We need to fix the midfield and get some decent supply to the guy, he'll do the rest. But he needs help. We have the basis of a platform with Fev and co, we need to keep adding to it. I don't think we should be getting rid of one of the few pure talents we have.

I'm with Elwood re: Libba. He should go for even speculating this way. You would never ever hear Robert Shaw making comments like that about any Ess players. If we have issues within the club, it shouldn’t be made public, it should all be dealt with inhouse and publicly we should be presenting a united front.

Interesting to see Fev leaving hospital yesterday.
2 broken fingers on one hand, 1 broken on the other.
All so badly broken they required surgery.
Try marking a footy with broken fingers.
Not to mention severe groin restrictions.
Fevola showed courage to get out on the park and to draw a good defender, giving Fish, Waite etc lesser opponents.

Yes he still needs a lot of improvement but he's come a long way and probably average 60 goals per year the last 3 years.

Only gamebreaker we have got and hasnt been fit since the brisbane game - 49 goals isnt a bad return with a shocking midfield and delivery
Still needs to work hard and maximise potential and eschew any silly acts which sometimes lead to getting reported
And you are right BV returns of 60 60 and 49 goals for the last 3 years means we cant or would be stupid to trade
Will be better when fisher and waite and betts continue to improve and all defenders wont then be able to gravitate to fev
