Simple yes or no.

From all reports CFC initially offered $300K and have lifted it in recent days to $350K.

Lance wants $400K.

Should the club give in to his request?

No for mine.

Players at a wooden spoon club have no business asking for sizeable contracts.

If he can get it elsewhere then I suggest he should.

He knocked back $350K ... you have to be kidding me.

No Way!!!

I have posted my comments about Lance contract elsewhere but will repeat them here:

Quote:
Well if he is looking elsewhere then so be it!

The latest offer of 350K a year for 2 (?) years is VERY generous given his output over the last couple of seasons.

This will also test the mettle and hardness of the board at Carlton and we will see if they will walk the walk and not just talk the talk about not "caving" into player demands. The fact remains that the CFC had already increased its offer by 50K on its original offer to Lance.

If that isnt good enuff for Lance then his heart is not with the CFC and he is just playing for the $$$$. I for one don't want money hungry people at the CFC

The should show him the door, don't worry about lifting offers.

I think $350,000 is a fairly generous offer. If he can get what he's asking for elsewhere then that's what he should do, go elsewhere.

Been a fan over the years but I still think 400 is asking way too much.

No way. $350k is WAY too much as it is.

If the club gives in I will be bitterly disappointed. I couldn't deal with anymore seasons of "will he be fit, won't he be fit?". If he can get $400k, good luck to him and best he go there and become their headache.

I would think, assuming a 22 round season, almost $16,000 a game is pretty good work if you can get it!

Don't think we should offer him more than we currently have, but I hope we keep him unless the trade is excellent. I reckon Lance will be one of those "don't know what you've got till its gone" deals.

How about we send this to Lance and say for each Yes you can add $1000 to your contract, but for each No you take $2000 off your contract and that should be a realistic expectation of what your worth.

PS: i'm expecting at least 100 No responses here

I think you have to be an elite player to be getting 400k per year and Lance obviously fits the bill of being an elite player.

I will list below the list of achievements of Lance Whitnall since he has been at Carlton.

That is a huge landside.

Which 4 people voted yes.

I'll take a guess that two of them were BM and Surrey.
