Speaking of the Western Bulldogs... the likes of Bontempelli would never get drafted by Carlton if an average fan was in charge. He's not a "natural footballer", is an in-between size, isn't ready to play and is "not what we need". It's no wonder we have a crap list if club logic follows the logic of its supporters.

Always thought Higgins' defensive skills were his best asset...and I think the Dogs need him...

If the dogs have such a great midfield, then why are they where they are? If its a case of a kpp or two then perhaps they may be interested in Mr Waite? He would still have currency and they may have a decent midfielder that they would trade for the brain surgeon.

They will come along ok....

It eats up a spot on the list, therefore it does.

If we want to cull as many we want to, we're going to end up having to use picks in the 100s to make up the list spots. I'd rather higgins than a 5th round pick.

I agree.

are people serious about considering Higgins?

27, injury prone, soft and not that good. Given our list how would be be an advantage?

It's time for kids, kids and kids. If we recruit from other clubs it has to be someone like a Docherty. Still young, lots of upside and doesn't cost much.

I too hope we can trade/manoeuvre in another couple of beauties like Docherty and Everitt. But FA and trading are obviously completely separate things.

Not me. Higgins we know is average and has at best 2-3 years of good football ahead of him.

Atleast with a very late pick/rookie pick we have a "chance'" of getting a good player that can play for 10 years.

I'd love to say that there is absolutely zero chance of the sentence "Shit...if only we picked up Shaun Higgins last season" turning up on this page next year.

Instead, London to a brick, it'll be some small minded flower's bugbear that gets reposted at every irrelevant opportunity.

The fact that we are even discussing Shaun Higgins as an option shows how bad we have become.

It's really like a St Kilda countenancing and accepting an Ian Muller or a Spiro Kourkemelis.

Keep hearing kristian Jaksch named mentioned...
Reckon carlton will offer a player but, think they will end up with our second rounder..
Scott Lycett is another that we may look at, promising ruckmen that would replace warnock, don't be surprised if Garlett is used in that trade..
Kieran Harper is one I would look at from north..
What about Tim Membrey from the swans or Tom Mitchell??
Can Kreuzer play as a key forward?? If we pick up Lycett, kreuzer may have to alter he's position??
Would be a good outcome if we could land,
Jaksch, Lycett and Tom Mitchell or Tim Membrey and keep our first round pick..

Be happy with Jaksh and Mitchell. Tall and midfielder. We need strong midfielders, with good skills who work HARD.

Jacksch will take a first rounder and possibly a player if he were to move and I'm not sure he will. The fact that a number of clubs will chase him will drive his price up.

Lycett will go back to SA or stay in Perth and Mitchell has a contract and is very happy in Sydney. He will be back in the side by finals.

This is how bad we are travelling right now..... I spoke to a recently retired player and he said if He had to decide between playing with the blues or bombers right now, he'd play at the bombers even with suspensions hanging over players heads .

This is truly shattering news.
With your strike rate it must be true.

Did Scott Camporeale say this in the car park?
It makes sense to me, if 20 or so players get rubbed out it will be easier to get a game.
