Mick will be very welcome back at Collingwood after leaving our club in the bottom 6 for years to come. 3 million to delist players is nice. I want that job. No pressure on him next year. According to my collingwood source, he was very involved in list management at the pies in the early days. But, after some bad decisions he wasn't involved. Good example at Carlton would be daisy thomas.
I think you guys are dreaming about Dangerfield or any other top free agent coming. Sure you might get a player like Daisy come across that no one else wants for top dollar. But, Carlton's window has finished and there won't be any top free agents out there wanting to come to a bottom 6 team, which is 10-15 years from a flag.
I love the Collingwood source thingy - so he was so bad they won a flag but now...now that they have fixed things.... My 'Collingwood sources" weep after our third bottle of red bemoaning Buckley's insipid coaching and missing the "Malthouse years".
Hate him and bag him but don't drag in "Collingwood sources", that's almost as bad as quoting the herald/sun n an argument.
I think the pies had a very good list / recruitment manager for quite sometime.
so good list = Not Mick
Bad list = Mick
yet they won a flag with bad list Mick...How strange?
Wow.
You missed my point completely.
I am saying he wasnt very involved in recruiting after the early stages at collingwood. Got it genius?
Was mick the list manager at cfc? No
what does a list manager do?
Terry wallace at richmond didnt have too much say at the Tigers which he stated on sen. Was all handled by the list mgr. Sure the coach might have some discussions or get on a plane to meet a player but i think that is where it stops with the coach.
Find an afl pd for list / recruitment mgr and you might understand a bit more about the roles and responsibilities.
Mick doesnt even review game tapes so you think he does a lot of scouting. I think you guys think a snr coach does a lot more then he actually does. There are specialised roles at a club for a reason. People praise mick for rowes improvement, but he would spend majority of his time with the assistant defensive coach. If you dont get what im saying then stop replying with your brainless replies.
