that's great news if bolton is already running his eyes over the list and making decisions over who he needs, who he wants and who can tell their story walking.

keeping kruezer or a high pick, i don't mind. whatever is better for us to compete and rebuild.

If true I am starting to really like Bolton, before he is even officially confirmed as our new coach. Losing Kreuzer would gut me, and I fear for the message it could send our other A grade footballers, in particular young Cripps. The highlight reel from the weekend seems to indicate that these two enjoy playing together and work extremely well together. Lose Kreuz now and add another 5-10 years to the rebuild time frame I reckon.

Smarter man than I thought is SOS!!!!

The more likely scenario is there is a fair offer on the table taking into account the last 3 years and the very intimate knowledge of his medical files!!!

Given that Kruezer has put off talks until the end of the year there may not be.

Considering there are only two weeks of the season and he hasn't signed says to me he is going. How many FA or RFA have signed with their own club this late or after the season?

I am hearing that Kruezer is part of boltons re build, they do not want him going anywhere.

It's just a situation I don't think we lose either way. Kruezer or Pick 3 in a rebuild are both good options.

I think people get too emotional about players. Like Betts, Garlett, Waite etc as soon as they go I don't care anymore. For me it's about the club and the club getting back to the top. Players come and go but the club remains.

I also think we are effectively starting again so we will be starting a new Culture to be lead by Bolton & SOS. People talk about Kruezer as important for Culture but he is a reminder of a wasted past so I am not sure I agree.

His wasted past they agree on but they still need heart and soul players who give everything for the jumper and they see him as perfect example of what we need at CFC and someone the young ones can follow. In reality , we have not got many of these types at the moment and the ones that don't tow the line will be shipped out. If we can get hold of adelaide's compo pick for dangerfield gibbs will be gone.

I don't see him as a "heart and soul player" as other do. His personality doesn't suit that IMO. He is a very popular character amongst fans and probably amongst teammates. People love the way he goes about it and you can never question his efforts. He's a good player as well.

Personally, if he left I don't think he would be missed in that sense at all. I see a new culture being developed at Carlton with Bolton & SOS with Cripps and a band of new kids coming through.

Like I said it's a situation that we win either way.

If we end up with five or more top 20 picks this year will forever be known as the Carlton Draught.

I totally agree, either way it does not bother me, as long as we get a pick under 5, he does seem to be holding out at the moment.

If he really wants to stay for a fair deal, I'm sure they'll find a way.

If he's fed up and has made up his mind .... then a top 5 pick isn't a bad result.

If someone like Kreuzer is entertaining a trade, then the damage is already done.
Best to focus on fixing the club environment for our next core of young players to ensure they want to stay together.

That's good, especially after the weekend where we made Melbourne bitter.

Are we certain to get a compensation pick at the start of the first round? What if we get it at the end of the 1st round, would it still be worth while?

The experience with GWS and GC (and partly Melbourne) clearly shows that going too much with kids you will have problems. Saints and WB made sure they kept a number of their key players. You risk to end up with a very fickle group. To be successful you need a very good ruck man. Kreuzer is not only young enough to be involved in the next "rebound" in a few years, his attitude, resilience and work ethics is important to have when you inject a lot of youth. Also, without him we have to chase for a ruckman. In the draft its a very risky proposition and alternatively we'll again pay overs in either $ or picks to get an established one (ie. Warnock).
