Forget the past BKB it will drive you crazy. This is a new dawn with new people. We need to give them a chance.

We are starting from an extremely low base, but we are starting.

The board should change, definitely.

However, that doesn't change my opinion that we have new people in critical positions that can drive the club forward. Hopefully the board will stay out of the way

..i'd love too, seriously would.. ..but they've broken my faith in them too many times.. ..will wait and see, but can't muster up much enthusiasm for our off field antics.. ....will stupidly look for hope on field and latch on to what I can believe in there (crisps!!), but we've only just sacked and paid out our million dollar hope..

psych, besides from the appointments of sos and bolton, who are the other people/positions that have filled you with optimism?

i'm also breathing the fresh air about the future, and was impressed with triggs' honest speech before the game last week about improving communications, culture and systems.

was hoping you could elaborate more.

the ship's turning.

thanks,
johnny

And the new board members would be ? I'm in favour of changes, but who would do better than the incumbents ?

Who would be interested in taking it on ?

Get Fraser Brown and the Grollos.

Raze PP and build a privately owned boutique stadium for 35,000 with a surface the same size as the MCG.
Ask to play all our home games there except against Richmond, Collingwood and Hawthorn, which we would like on the MCG.

Invite the AFL to schedule games there when the crowd is going to be less than 25K. e.g. Dogs v NM.

Make millions.

Win Flags.

Bottom line is nobody is going to do better than what MLG is doing right now. Change for change sake doesn't address the root cause.

MLG has demonstrated he has heard the supporters and looked to address these issues.

What will come next is new sponsors to replace outgoing sponsors, and further fan engagement to bring back the masses.

Learn from past mistakes and the future will be strong.

Fail to learn from past mistakes and the future will be no better than our present.

It may not be MLG that needs to go, but there needs to be further change.

We can't hire a favourite son as list manager and a new coach and hope for the best.

Exactly. Changes within the board makes sense to reduce numbers and add fresh ideas. Replacing the board is not learning from past mistakes.

Hi Johnny.

MLG as President & Trigg as CEO have made a difference especially with process and the direction we are heading. We will be bringing in new recruiting, fitness and coaching staff. There have also been massive changes in the administration throughout different departments at the club. There is a lot happening behind the scenes.

The key for me is the language coming out of the club and how we are finally addressing issues in a proper manner. We have finally left the 80's and 90's behind. No more quick fixes and now following proper industry practices. The selection process of a new coach was a massive positive for me.

I have been a major critic of the club over the past decade on so many levels and we are still a long long way from where we need to be but IMO things are starting to head in the right direction. Personally I am relieved.

IMO as much as I am angry about things in the past we need to look forward. I just hope the big decisions keep happening and we follow the path we are on.

Psych

We all say there are no quick fixes etc. Yet in the same breath we are judging MLG , Trigg and SOS . FFS give them time. Just because MLG is a little stilted in his public media talk does not mean that he isnt doing the right thing behind the scenes. Just because Trigg is smooth and has a lot of "corporate speak "about his delivery , does not mean that he is insincere and only superficially tackling things. Just because SOS is another "favorite son" does not mean that he doesn't know what he is doing .
There are a lot of knee jerk reaction being expressed, simply because our onfield performances havent improved, yet there is definitely a new culture being rebuilt. Now we need to give it time. lets not buy into the Synbad "terrible forever" mantra, he is just a lunatic who loves the sound of his own voice .
I dont like all this striving for draft picks, yes we need to embrace the draft, but that does not mean that we have to turf mature bodied players out the door. Henderson is gone we have to accept that. Yarran is still a great player and has great currency. Unless we get a great offer GAGF. Menzel is still young and hugely talented. He may just get spurred on by big bro's return last night for Geelong. Bell is not hugely tallented but has huge heart. You need a mix. He should be retained unless there is something decent coming back from QLD. SOS no bab ies out with the bathwater please.
