DVR hasn't played a game yet and he is in our keepers> He must be killing it in the twos...
Of a list of 40, we have played about 42. He hasn't had a game. Is he injured? Can he even play? Does he even exist?

Its strange isnt it? The immediate reaction is that we have a real surplus of good running half backs(see below), and therefore DVR hasnt been needed. Yet when you look at our results, our defence has been a real weak point. For me the inescapable conclusion is that it is our dysfunctional midfield that is at the base of all our woes. We simply dont put enough pressure on the opposition ball carrier, and so the opposition get too many quality F50 entries. This makes our defenders look much worse than they are.

FWIW I'd ignore DVB at all costs from past experiences.

It's a pretty simple assumption to make without knowing anything factually.

I reckon I would take the cap hit and pay Jones out. Doubt it will happen, though.

I'd prefer the method of stop making them in the first place as primary evidence of this!

It is well known at all footy clubs if you have a few $$$ in your pocket and you throw some of it the way of the footy club then you do have access to key people at the club and insights are shared. It is like that everywhere not only Carlton.

If Jones is doing everything required off the field then I would keep him. He needs to build on his core strength over the summer.

But wasn't that the story over last summer, how he'd been working extra hard etc. The guy has seriously limited endurance and no strength in his hands. If these 2 things can be improved and he can refine his marking technique he might be able to turn it around, but how many years has he been in the system now without fixing the issues? If he had a tank you could look at him as a forward flanker or tall winger where he'd probably be able to be an aerial presence against smaller/lesser opponents, but as a Key Forward he just doesn't take the grabs.

Our development has been terrible. Levi gets a kicking coach after round 2 and immediately improves his kicking. What the hell was going on over summer. Jones woud improve if he didn't fall after every go at the ball. (Mind thats probably the least of his problems ) but gee, that's an under 12 thing that should be easily corrected.....just for starters

Doesn't bode well for Stevie then given how useless Chappy was @ Essendon*. Should've just retired. Ending his career after 2 nothing years @ Essendon* puts a bit of a damper on his whole career.

Er.. No it doesn't. We all kinda wish it did, but it doesn't. In 10 years time people won't even remember he played at Essendon*.

Just by the by, I often forget that Brereton played at Sydney and Collingwood. Most people wouldn't even know it. And did Jezza play at St Kilda? Nah, not really.
