If true, great sign from Bolton. He is backing himself in to turn talent around.
If true, I like his thinking. You don't just throw talent out!

I seem to recall Pagan saying something similar about Angwin. Didn't work out too well.

If he agrees to stay in what would be his final year of contact you would hope the club takes out some protection by insisting on a contract extension. That leaves a trade on the table next year if he doesn't cut the mustard.

Pies are offering Treloar's girlfriend a good 'deal' too if you catch my drift.

Like GWS?
Will she be included in the salary cap like he was?

History has shown that we are incapable of turning around the poor attitudes of players and getting consistency from them. Hence why we've always removed them only when we were fed up, and receiving little in return.

A gamble but x2

An early, potential, chance for Bolton to demonstrate his caching ability in working with equivacals (my word) like Yatean.
I know he's sooked and its corrosive to see, but he now has the tank and longevity, and maybe has the right coach to manage him.

..yarran doesn't have the tank in my opinion.. ..not to be used to his full potential..

I fully expect crickets from the AFL.

Would we need to include a player like Holman or a later pick to secure first pick from Geelong for Hendo?

Would it be worth it to ensure we get the top end quality on the list we need?

I haven't seen him play but the younger Curnow seems to have a fair bit of hype around him.

I would. I think it will take Henderson and a player or pick to get Pick 7. We need pick 7.

We have Pick 2
Kruezer goes we get Pick 3
Trade Henderson plus ?? for Pick 7
Yarran to Richmond for Pick 14
Bell & 38 to Brisbane for Pick 19 & 55
Menzel for Pick 28
We have Pick 20
We have Pick 56
We have Pick 74

Select

Pick 2 Weitering (KPD)
Pick 3 Francis (Mid)
Pick 7 C.Curnow (Mid)
Pick 14 Ryan Clarke (Mid)
Pick 19 H.McKay (KPF/Ruck)
Pick 20 Partington (Mid)
Pick 28 Rice (Small defender)
Pick 55 Dylan Smith (KPF)
Pick 56 Hardwick (Mid/Fwd)
Pick 74 Mitch Brown (KPD)
Pick 92 Silvagni (Utility)

Rookie Rioli (Small fwd)

KP forward / defender in his peak is worth pick 7 on its own. Geelong don't need to be given anything more.
Menzel for pick 28....no. Sorry psyc, just no.

A lot of people (myself included) felt Holman wouldn't make it. He has shown a bit in the back half of the season and maybe has done enough to be a handy steak knife offer to another club for a first round pick along side a Hendo or a Yarran, for example.

Or, if Bolton sees something in him, keep him. What am I, a crystal ball?

Forget the details. People focus too much on an individual instead of the bigger picture. We are rebuilding.

Do you think that list above added to Cripps Graham Murphy Gibbs Thomas Byrne Sheehan Giles Boekhurst Buckley Docherty Tuohy Simpson Jaksch Whiley Curnow Casboult Smith Holman DVR Everitt will make a significant dent in our rebuild and give us genuine hope for the future?

You all of a sudden have a young line up such as below with 2 drafts to go as part of SOS's plan. Add another 12 -15 players .Raw but lots of upside. Then with some money and picks you go after needs.

B: Buckley Jamison Weitering
HB: Byrne Brown Rice

Foll: Wood Docherty Murphy
C: Francis Cripps Boekhurst

HF: C.Curnow Casboult Gibbs
F: Thomas McKay Walker

Int from: Graham Tuohy Sheehan Partington Clarke Silvagni Simpson Rowe Everitt D.Smith C.Smith Hardwick White Giles Whiley Curnow

All of a sudden we have some depth and young potential. Great start for new coach with a modern game plan.

PS The half back line may cause some smiles

I agree but the circumstances aren't in our favour. He wants out and he isn't contracted.
It basically comes down to a bidding war OR we have to give a little extra.
