Of course 'nobody good' wants to come to us.
We finished last with the worst percentage in our history.
Who'd be attracted to a club like that ?
We have to concentrate on building through the draft, and building a deep pool of young talent. Spending loads on attracting high priced free agents will come in time, but not right now.

The media have somehow worked out the AFL are making up the rules as they go and there is a fair bit of discussion on Kruezer now.

The AFL may be pressured into abandoning makes uppey on this.

Don't want Carlisle unless he comes free. This year it looks like there is every chance one fairly decent player might make it to the PSD... hope so.

Agree with all this. It's PSD or forget it for Carlisle.

The AFL media are probably just annoyed, they thought they'd cornered the market on makey uppy.

Bolts isn't to keen on Carlisle. SOS is. SOS Wants Carlisle cheap so he can target more mids with early pics rather than all talls.

Carlisle is a tool. He is a loner at the Bombers. His only mates at Essendon* were Patty Ryder and Davey and both aren't there any more. He doesn't have many friends at Essendon* because of his character.

Lots of good blokes at that club. Can't believe he isn't friends with them.

Definitely a tool.
Inside and outside of football.

Carlton have a great history of pandering to the whims of tools.
He'll fit in

Shrewd.
I was hoping he'd do it as well as point out the Frawley business and how we are no different from Melbourne if Kreuzer goes. If he has worded it well with the last ten or fifteen years of results and players lost etc, we should stack up as far worse off than Brisbane.

Them 3 flags
Us four spoons.
Not a bad opening paragraph in the making just there..

It was inevitable we would do this. I'm actually surprised we hadn't done it sooner. Turns the heat up on those monkeys at AFL House not just to get an early first round compensation pick this year but also to get a priority pick next year.

We are a chance to get both (we'd need to really stink it up next year to ensure we get the double), but very likely to get one.

This is the critical bit in what Triggers has said : "Moreover, a priority selection will obviously assist our rebuild by helping Carlton improve quicker – and a competitive Carlton is vital for a healthy AFL competition."

This is a direct backhand pass down the line to the AFL helping the Lions in the Qld market.

CFC and BLs are important for different reasons.

interesting comparisons:

Since 2000:

Brisbane have finished below us 5 times (2010 - 2014). In that time they have won three flags (01,02,03) and been runner up once (04). They have contested 6 final series and have never been last (their worst finish has been second last - this year - their last spoon was 98). They have a win percentage in their last 50 games of 28%.

In the same period, we have finished below them 11 times. We have contested finals series 6 times, been runner up once (2000) and have come second last 2 times (03 and 07) and last 4 times (02, 05, 06 and 15). We have a win percentage in our last 50 games of 29%.

Mitch Clark scenario.

Hope Fremantle finish near top. First pick around #21 after compensation picks.

Offer him a sweet deal, and GWS a better deal eg the Henderson/Yarran first rounder. Somewhere between #12 - #14.

Freo get nowhere with deal, and don't have anyone to trade out to upgrade pick. GWS reject crap offers, contracted until end of 2017 etc etc. He's already committed to leaving. Bang, we swoop......

....on second thoughts probably better chance of grro's suggestion.
