Boyd given 3 games by tribunal

That is outrageous. I get that we have to protect the head but that was a football action. It was a single motion tackle with no slinging.

yeah, with all the fuss about king martin elbowing and getting off, this is over the top.

no doubt he did tackle him overly hard, but who hasnt wanted to shove that stupid mullet head into the turf? we need to appeal on this basis alone

Bad news for Jeremy McGovern - the @WestCoastEagles star will miss Saturday's clash with @CarltonFC

would have thought the bad news for him was that he was selected.....

The Eagles continue to lose key players for this week, especially their best player -McGovern.

Also will lose Allen, their top goal kicker, Gibney and possibly Tom Barras.

We should play our VFL team and rest everyone else!
I thought Allen returned to the field after he went off?

He did Return and kicked 3 Goals, however was playing with one Shoulder. Very doubtful this week. Has to pay a fitness Test according to WC official Site

For us, form and confidence is far more important than rest. Play full strength and win by as much as possible. Only rest players who are actually carrying something

Agree. This is a huge danger game if we take it lightly.
We simply MUST play our best in every game so we can win the four games against teams outside the top 4, and then hopefully snatch one against Collingwood or Melbourne.
Surely, this time last year is burning hot in our memories.
MUST control our own destiny.

They are the walking wounded.

Playing injured players against a red hot Carlton team is only going to cause more damage.

Allen and Barrass missing will really hurt them. They have some talls to cover, but they are bablies at this level.

Come on Blues, keep playing the same way and get better and better and fitter and fitter and keep winning till the final Saturday in September.

I know he hasn't been busting the door down - but is this the kind of game we could drop Lemmey in as a like for like replacement for H?

No pressure environment - give him a taste at this level and see what he has to offer?

Yeah-nah. It is an opportunity if all those players are to miss, but Ive seen enough of Lemmey to believe he will really struggle with the pace of AFL. He is nowhere near it imo. I think O'Keefe has past him recently.

With that in mind, maybe its an opportunity to try and get Marchbank acclimatised with the pace of the game, and see where he's at. He's completed a huge block of training and played a couple VFL games in a row.

We play this game like we're playing a top side. We don't rest someone just for the hell of it. We don't throw someone in there to see where they're at.
We look at this game and play it like we want to play against the filth the following Friday night.

I sensed a bit of lapsing into “playing like millionaires” at times in the second half last week - we go into this game against West Coast with this attitude and we’ll severely embarrass ourselves.

When did we do that in the 2nd half?

Severely embarrass ourselves? Calm down...

I couldn't disagree more Agro, I thought it was clinical, every time we were challenged we responded. I expected a limp 16pt win in the 3rd but we dug right in.

You guys are probably right but this is Carlton we’re talking about 100 times bitten, very very very very very shy.

Agree we play this as if our season depends on it. Because it does.
I do think Marchbank is the guy to come in for Harry. Not in the same role, obvs, so will require a shuffle.

Cowan for Boyd (still can’t believe that got him 3… isn’t that what De Goey got???)
Dow I’m for Cerra if he is injured.
Marchbank in for Harry.

I’d keep the structure similar to last week after Harry went down. I’d keep Marchbank half-back/wing. Shuffle him and McGovern in a two-pronged interceptor/ rebounding role.

Good prep for Collingwood too with their less conventional forward line.

If it wasn't for Razor Ray, we would've been 50 up at 3 qtr time.

Agree, they are a very good well drilled team. They came hard and we held firm

Turn it up.

They’re both coming along nicely, but Lemmey is making gains in all three zones. O’Keeffe has only just come good as a tap ruckman.
