Missed most of the game due to netball grand final which was a disaster.
Don't think I'll be watching this game either

Wallabies got rolled by Ireland late too. 33-31.

And socceroos this morning. Blues did everything possible to make the day a complete disaster
They did everything possible to make it a complete losing day.

I don't think I want to play a crap team again. 3 games against two of the shittiest sides in years and we won them by a total of 11pts.

I seriously prefer to play a good side. We seems to lift our level. We've beaten sides competing against us for a top 10 spot, rolled Geelong, seems to have started their form slump, but play Essendon* and Richmond and we barely turn up and nearly lose.

What's with our goalkicking! We should have stitched that game up early in the last qtr but kicked 6 pts straight either side of 3/4 time.

Only seen the second half.
The most noticeable thing was our lack of speed.
We need to add it before the kids in the teams that have been accumulating them mature.
At least we got the win, even if we only scrapped it in.

Next week will be a really good test, hopefully we have Dean back.

Oh and that decision with Haynes was woeful.

Apart from the win the only good thing to come out of this game is Lewis Young will not be available next week

We need to bring in a rule where teams can make an ARC challenge, similar to cricket.

If the challenge is successful, you get to keep it, otherwise you lose it.

These maggots call for reviews when it's obvious they don't need to, but won't call for one when they do.

Other than that little scare at the end, I'm reasonably happy with tonight. How many close games did the Pies win during their premiership year?

The home and away season is about stacking W's. No team plays champagne footy every week. The boys got the job done, and if it weren't for the umpires, they would've done it without stressing us all out.

A wise man once said, it doesn't matter whether you win by an inch or a mile, winning's winning.

7 out of our last 8 games have been under 15pt margins.

Something very wrong there.

I'm not surprised he was invisible in the VFL game I went to against Coburg.

What a cheap shot against a guy who got concussed giving his all. Maybe you'd have preferred Billy Wilson or Newman to play on Lynch?!

Lewis Young also went off about 2 minutes into the 3rd, in a scrappy affair we were a key player down half the game.

Thought Young was more than fine before he sadly got concussed. Hope he has a smooth recovery.

We’ll be needing him I reckon with Weiters evidently out for awhile yet.

We didn’t play well and got smashed in the midfield. Nankervis seems to affect our midfield phyc.
The rain affected our game evolution. We will learn from that.
Once we lost Young, we were always on the back foot. We had to move McGovern as a KP back!!
We missed easy shots in the end that would have closed the game off.
The umpires kept Richmond in the game and in the end even tried to give their supporters some hope. F@#$ them - we won.
In the end the boys dug deep and got the win. That is important. That was crucial.
Thought Derksen showed he can do a job. We are on the right track.
Finally!

Pros:

Ball movement was pretty good again.
Florent, Hewett, Evans, Cowan, McGovern, Haynes, Derksen.
Wilson's clean hands.
Byrne's aggression.
Ison was more involved.

Cons:

Inaccuracy.
Umpiring assistance to the opposition.
Beaten around the ball.
The pro Richmond commentary.
Harry struggled.
Kemp dropping chest marks.

I don't know what to make of it all. We have a genuine problem with the tigers. We simply can't play against them. Beaten them twice by a total of 6 points. This against a team that has won 9 games in 3 years.

Take the points and run.

George was tremendous. Easily best on ground. Haynes great too. Cerra had moments. Jagga was pretty good after a slow start, though his kicking let's him down a lot. The rest were bog average. Few cameos here and there, but not good.

Pitto is an absolute liability. Smashed in the ruck weekly. When he does get a hit out it's rarely to our advantage. We got beaten out of the middle all night. No surprise that the tigers were able to push it forward at the end of the game.

Our goal kicking continues to be shit. But tonight it came from shots from shallow and wide entries. It's hard to kick goals from 40+ and angles with any consistency.

Finally the umpiring. Wow. Just wow. Just when your think they can't get worse. The 2 gifts that brought them back to within 2 points were disgusting. The Haynes free was horrible. The ducking free just shouldn't be paid. While umpires continue to pay it, players will continue to do it.

Two of the worst ‘wins’ you’ll ever see against the same oppo in the same season.

I’m filthy with that performance. Absolutely filthy. Disgusted.

Mids got pantsed. Pitto is the worst no 1 ruck in the league by a mile and is a massive liability. Needs to go. Like watching Cain Ackland out there.

Ison needs to be dropped. Can’t have a player meandering around like that. Barely getting out of a jog.

Kemp is very frustrating and has exhausted my patience. Works so hard but can’t execute the basics. Sick of the dropped sitters.

Hewett, Haynes and Jagga excused.

The rest can GAGF.

And Fraser is very smart not to commit to this rabble.

If you are celebrating that performance then you are part of the problem.

Just p155 off :banghead:

Maybe the conditions, maybe the oppo have adjusted to what we are trying to do, maybe past our peak conditioning, or maybe cracking with growing expectations but we have have moved away from the gamestyle that got us on a roll. Too many long kicks, less risky kicks into the middle of the ground and less loose ball hustle / knock ons. We look pretty good when our pressure is up over 200 but we arent keeping it there for long.
We also look to not be covering the ground as well as we did a month ago.

We are due a loss and I am expecting a clump of them in the coming weeks.

Good to get a win last night. It was a 20pt win with a bit of close game practice thrown in at the end.

Go Blues.

I enjoyed the win - it is the tigers after all, but @#$%&! did they smash us at clearances, Pitto and Harry both absolutely smashed I thought and the conditions last night demanded you win clearances.
