 ... sorry to disappoint CK but when people don't even read the thread correctly, then it's no use.

Surrey if the club haven't the time or resources to call you and ask why you haven't renewed or if you'd like to renew thats a real shame.

Couldn't you just call them and raise your concerns...get your seats moved or whatever it is bothering you...renew your membership and get on with supporting the Blues?

My memory of the proposal was it was well after South moved to Sydney, probably post-Edelson when they were battling and the AFL was pouring money into the club to keep it a float. It sound like a Jack Elliot scheme everything in Carlton's favour, we basically only play home games in Melbourne and Sydney(as away games). Like the North Melbourne merger when we were buying up North's Shares - we were going to play at Princes Park, play in Navy Blue, be called Carlton, keep all their good players and take the Kangaroo as a mascot (that's giving up alot).

Anyway the proposal was used by the AFL to keep pumping money into Sydney, because in those day's we were the big scarry club that everyone didn't want to get yet another advantage. It was never going to float, you can't make other clubs give up their home games. How would we react if Hawthorn decided to play all of it's away games in Tassie, then North it's away games in Canberra, then the Bulldogs it's away games in Darwin. It's non-sensical and would never happen, you can only do what Melbourne does and that's sell your own Home games to Brisbane - something that does not appeal to most Melbourne based supporters.

Maybe if your lucky you can do what Collingwood seems to have done - organising a regular game in Sydney against Sydney as a blockbuster at the Telstra Stadium - don't they go up early (or send Buckley or something) and pump up the game, etc. It probably helps prevent Collingwood playing in the West. We could propose a similar deal, promising to go and run training camps and promotion prior to the game, like we did in the pre-season in Newcastle - it could even be done around the bye week like Collingwood do. It just couldn't be done in Sydney, because Collingwood are already doing it - maybe we could do it in Brisbane or even in Perth or Adelaide?

Interesting that you should post this thread Surrey particularly given your reluctance to leave Princes Park?

By the way i note your comments re "the best interest of Carlton Members".

Might i ask if you are a paid up Member yet?

As for me,whilst i live in Sydney i would NEVER advocate us moving.Any discussion or contemplation of the matter can be regarded to an admission that we have consigned ourseves to mediiocrity.

Another poster on this site who lives in Sydney. Well I be buggered there is a lot support up here nearly every second poster seems to live in Sydney. It will be interesting if we bump into one another in round 22

I'm concerned at your suggestion,"i will be buggered"...

We are talking about Sydney here, and the Mardi-gras is coming up!

One thing that you don't say in a Paddington bar that weekend is .''''Can i push your stool in?"
