Robertson didn't kick 6.

And Brad Green had a quiet one for a change.

This showed at the start of Q4 when he was on the bench and Melbourne got a couple of goals.

I have him in my top 5 for influence on the outcome.

Another positive is the serious amount of positive press we've received in the papers. Let's hope this leads to some serious levels of membership renewals this week...

One of the big positives for me was having McLaren on the field. When Barnaby was having a spell, we didn't have DeLuca in the ruck.

I reckon it puts us a bit closer to keeping Barney fit for 22 weeks. We can actually let him have some bench time now.

even Livo was peeling off Neitz to create a loose man for an option.

Lets hope he doesnt get dropped this week.. cos theyre fast and we dont have anyone to play him on... :?

We played a tall defence last year at the G with:

Pavlich taken at various times by Prendergast, Waite, Fevola, Thornton(?)
McPharlin taken by Livingston
Longmuir when up forward

So I think Livo is needed this week, if only to take McPharlin again. McPharlin is a good mark so Livo will be needed in the air.

We won a milestone game!!!!

Great performance by our young fellas - particularly when Melbourne got back in to the game and it looked like all the hard work was not going to be rewarded.

Surprised nobody has yet to mention Bentick's centre clearance work in the crucial 3rd quarter...This boy will be very good!

The change in the usual suspects for best players each week. Now we can get used to reading "Bentick, Simpson, Walker, Betts, Murphy..."

As GWS said to me during the game (we were there), "We've got our football team back!".

We will lose more games than we win this season, but there's a talent rising that Richmond can only dream about.

our attack on the ball and man when we werent in possesion was flower superb, probably the best i have seen for a long long time.

of course the usual suspects, well they arent really the usual suspects are they.

murphy, simpson, waite, fevola, lappin, whitnall, t-bird, livo, carrots, walker, scotland, stevens, french (he sure covers alot of ground) etc.. etc.. where great.

win, lose or draw - we play like that every week and i will be one happy camper.

great effort by the lads - across the board as well, and that was probably as pleasing as anything - even contributors for once.

i must add - i dont like the way the game is being played now, all the uncontested possesion etc... however, kudos to Pagan, he has changed his game plan to suit the "modern" game and its what we saw last night. While i personally dont like it as a specticle, its the way the game is played now and i think that is the first time i can remember for a long time that we played the "modern" game and did it well. kudos to pagan

Someone in the coaches box has been watching alot of soccer judging by the way we used the ball. We did our best to keep the ball in our hands at all times even if it meant going backwards. Always taking the easy option with our passing.Wingers keeping their width. It was great to see. Ran the dees ragged. With a bit more confidence in winning last night would have been and 8 goal win.

Our midfield got their hands on the ball first at almost every centre bounce.

Is it a coincidence we were more aggressive without the distraction of someone going off whenever he is tackled?

If the little parasite was tackled like Simmo was there at one stage, he would have been crying like a Queensland drug smuggler.

He suits the scum soooo well!

MFC were smashed in the midfield yet again and could not win a clearance. Until this is fixed our suspect backline will be exposed and our forward line will not get enough opportunities to kick a winning score.

Great win by the Blues and a lot to be pleased about - the senior members were very solid - Lappin, Stevens, Lance, Fev. Waite is a very very good player. Scotland was great and even Houlihan made a big impression. Simpson was very good, Carazzo shut out Johnstone and Murphy made a fantastic debut.

Hard to find a Melbourne winner or a Carlton loser in the match including the coaches.

Legend.

Thought Bruce and Sylvia were very solid for your guys last night.
Davey was fairly sharp.

The Carlton crowd that were there were in good voice. I could here the young guys singing the Fevola song on the top deck from the dunnies.
