Losing Goddard will turn out to be not that great a loss.

I satnd by my ignorant, alcohol-fuelled, mindless prediction.

And to think all this time I thought Tammy Wynette was singing:

"Stand by your Man." it was really "Satnd by your Man"

There is a bathroom on the right.

Leave Goddard aside for a minute. How does Kade compare with Wells?

Not quite in Daniel's class (yet), but I would be interested in how he compares with all the other first round picks from that year.

If we had the chance, we'd take Goddard in a flash.........some are just trying to rationalise that the penalties won't affect us as badly as some predicted

Absolute rubbish!! More the case some are still pissed we lost our picks and people still think Goddard can actully play. Some people don't know very much, especially if you think Goddard's that good we'd take him in a flash. Why????????

Let's look at the no's ! & 2 from that year as a package, rahtyr than individually. I say that because I think if we picked Goddard & Wells we may not have picked Simpson, as we'd have covered some of our mid-field pick-options by pick 45, and even may also have passed our pick at no.72 (Fisher). As absolutely brilliant as Wells is, as a package, I'd personally prefer Simmo & Fisher rather than Goddard and Wells. 2 excellent players for an outstanding one and a dud. I'm guessing alot of Saints supporters may agree with us too.

So we ended with the real #1 in Simpson....that was a god send!!...and Fisher in hindsight was the real #2.

I'm happy with the way it all panned out. I wouldn't mind Wells as well. IMO he's in an elite bracket that displays poise, skill and an extra gear. Rare talent.

I wouldn't mind having Goddard over at Carlton, regardless of what draft choice he was. It means nothing this far down the track. He'd be a good back pocket player for us, or at the very least would put pressure on those wanting to call the BP their position in a strong and stable Carlton backline.

I in raptures over the depth we're developing at Carlton, and challengers presenting for all positions (on and off the field) at Carlton.

Goddard would add depth to the list, and would win his position week in week out in the Bullants.

Now we only need the same from Justin Davies in over a months time if he can force his chance with the team

I am not trying to be negative or offend any davies lovers etc, but I cant see davies reaching the heights of simpson. The stuff simpson was doing in the bullants for 3 years showed a heap more potential than what davies has been doing. If you saw simpson play in the twos, he really was quite amazing. he was a general of the HB line and constantly dodged opponents and most importantly, after dodging everyone, was able to hit targets. I know it took him a year or so to transfer this play to the ones, but the fact that he could do this showed his huge potential. On the other hand, davies still finds it nigh impossible to hit a target over 20 meters away, has terrible decision making even in the twos and turns the ball over consistently. Its not good enough to just get a lot of touches in the twos, its what you do with it that really shows whether you are able to make it. This is what distingusishes simmo from davies and wiggins also. I know the cazzes say we should all show faith, which is true, but only where the indications support the showing of faith. However, i agree that unless you see the bullants regularly and training, one is not in a position to assess the indications, as a general rule.

:) I agree, Davies has the potential to be as good as Simmo, however he has only this year to show the club that he can be a consistent player. He has all the ability to cut it at AFL level however he needs to work his butt off to turn potential into a consistently good player. He will only get 1 or 2 chances this year and should he not grasp them, well the writing is on the wall and he will be delisted at years end.
