Dear Readers and Fashion Gurus

With so much talk about alternative jumpers, it's time for a little history lesson in relation to our real jumper...

How many more BLUES references do you know of?

Regards

Now THIS is a disclaimer:

Carlton Football Club advises that the Buzz are a group of Carlton fans who have volunteered their time to write some light-hearted commentary on today’s brand of football for use on our website. Views raised in Buzz articles are not necessarily the views of the Carlton Football Club

:-D

.....taking a colour as your moniker allows a much greater freedom in marketing.....

Is this reference to 'moniker' a reference to something else or someone else in Blue? :-D

That's a nice piece.

I might set up some blue polls to see if it the Buzz's best effort yet? ;)

Thanking muchly for indeedy support, camelboy, but the phrase is actually Blue Poles which was derived from the top heavy forward line of Nicholls, Walls and Jesaulenko in the 1972 Grand Final . This forward line provided the inspiration for Jackson Pollock to create this controversial art piece Blue Poles, currently in the National Gallery. Richmond Back Pocket Laurie Fowler was reputedly so incensed by Pollock abandoning his classic painting technique for a new abstract transitional style that he promptly floored John Nicholls in the Grand Final the following year.
