What a great idea by the club - no doubt one of Greg Lee's initiatives.

http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... eid=266772

I've be making the pledge.

This should be cascaded to every possible Carlton supporter possible - this should be a relentless e-mail campaign to all Carlton Supporters.

The Sexy Squad have a few new ideas that we will release soon in regards to helping the Blues, were just in the process of getting Carlton involved, but it will be funny and entertaining and it will definitely help the club, which we should all help do.

I've been a member for more than 10.

I have no plans on not being a member while there's life in this body.

I've backended my membership where I pay very little in the first two years and then a truckload in the last year... It was called the Kouta membership and it runs out this year.

Of course now since I am over 30 and have been a member for over 20 years I qualify for the vetran's membership, which is a two year pledge renewable every year...

But seriously this is a great initiative by the club and I wish them well.

I won't be at the game but I will be pledging.

It's not a new concept at all, been done at various clubs all over the world. However, by signing up for more years, you got a discounted rate overall. I see no discount here, this is just tugging at the heart-strings of the supporters using emotional blackmail.

The downfall of this scheme is that all you have to do is make a pledge, no money is changing hands at all. If you were to pay for three years of membership in six installments monthly, then it is of great benefit to the club when it is needed.

And how do you know it was a Greg Lee initiative anyway ??

i appluad the club for going down this path, thinks its a great idea, but yet again - what benefit is there for those that want to do it.

nothing

they just dont get it do they.

i pretty happy to commit to be a member, not sure if im going to be SC next year, but i will always be a silver member at the very least, but with things like this, there has to be incentive.

why couldnt they come up with something like

okay - we are going to offer a 3 year membership package which you can pay in 16 installments - payment every 2 months for 3 years and your membership will be at the current rate for the next three years + 10% to allow for any increase (if there is no increase then its a bonus for the club)

Social Club 17 Games - 3 x 460 = 1380 + 10% = $1518 @ 16 payments = $94.85 every second month

paying $95 every second a month is a hell of alot easier than paying $460 in one hit.

Silver 11 Game - 3 X $110 = $330 + 10% = $363 @ 16 Payments = $22.65 every second month.

geez, for $23 every second month how many extra members would we get? I reckon you would get heaps more.

they are so many avenues to make a success out of something like this yet once again they show no initative.

yet, how come we can think of such things but the club cant

it really can be dissappointing at times

i spoke to a couple of mates about it breifly, all carlton lads, none of them members as they dont go to games nor follow the game that much, and both of them said they would join in a heart beat if it was only going to cost them $20 every two months.

in the past month or so ive come up with the

10 year plan reward for continous membership ( you can purchase a signed jumper from your favorite player for around $200 or $400 if its framed with photo)

25 year plan reward for continuous membership (you can purchase a signed jumper from the entire team for around $200 or $400 if its framed with photo)

and now ive come up with this payment plan

and all the while they club doesnt change its tack at all on these issues.

they could use all my ideas if they wanted, i wouldnt charge them anything for using my ideas

Has the club used the benefits of Club Lifestyle in it's marketing?

I only recently found out that we can get 5% discount now at Safeway, as well as Coles. The only drawback is you have to buy the giftcard upfront.

The great thing with the Safeway card is that is can be used at Caltex stations. So you shop at Safeway, use the card to pay, collect the 4c discount voucher, fill up your tank, and pay with your giftcard card which you've purchased at 5% discount. WIth petrol at $1.30, you save about 10c/litre.

As a family of 5, we're saving over $50/month!!

The Carlton membership pays for itself.

i like some of the loyalty schemes from the prez. who do we have to bash around the ears to get the club to listen to this sort of thing?

proud of the fact i paid for my (admittedly distant blue) membership when it looked like the club would pick up its first spoon way back (aw how sweet, my club sucked so i joined up). turns out i was a few years early, but hey, now we have 2!! hehehe

maybe a new petition voting for the prez to become the prez?!!!!

hooray..........

lets not crazy there mate. :?

you reckon elliot told the AFL to get [REDACTED] constantly? 8)

nothing compared to what i would do if i had the opportunity. 8)

maybe that is what we need though

but on the loyalty scheme thing

its a win win IMO

not only do you entice members to continue their membership, its two fold.
not only do you have the revenue from having a member for an extended period, but you also have the extra revenue for providing the jumpers as i suggested.

imagine every year there is about 200 people that qualify for the reward.

100 take the $200 option = $20,000 a year for nothing

100 take the $400 option = $40,000 a year for nothing

that is $60,000 a year extra revenue for doing nothing other than offering members an oppurtunity to have a jumper signed if they continue there membership for 10 years +

if they dont take up the option, fine, you still have had the member for 10 years + which is a positive in itself
