Something like…

Caro: Did you know of or attend a meeting held at John Valmorbida’s house in the lead up to Collo’s resignation?
Sticks: Didn’t know of it…so I didn’t attend.

Walls: Carlton fans wonder why the also rans (Prenda, Teague, Livingston) are being played in front of the kids?
Sticks: Russell’s played 2 good games in a row now…might come in next week…will get games after the break with the other kids

Hutchy: What was the nature of the speech you gave to the players before the Essendon* game?
Sticks: After Graham Smorgan was on the footy show, the next morning some of the players were asking questions & were a bit concerned so I told them everything was allright & there were moves afoot to address the situation.

…some other banter as well.

Interesting bit about “the meetingâ€

Sticks also said that a meeting was held before last weeks game and it was left to Denis (the match committee would back him) to make the decision whether or not "stronger bodies" should come in against the likes of Adelaide, Port and the Eagles. That strategy would be reassessed after the break.

I am not sure which is the bigger problem here, the fact that Denis would actually play these blokes who have no future or the fact that the match committee actually endorsed it.

Either way it is an indictment on the football department in our club.

exactly my point why win games and finish higher up the ladder when we need evry bit of young talent we can get.

so by playing hacks like Prenda, Sporn, Longmuir and the likes he is securing those much need high draft picks

Have you read any of the draft threads? The top 4 picks are pretty even so I'm not sure we have to tank

Are you saying that if we played the kids we'd still win games. I don't think anyone is expecting the kids to come in and we suddenly win games, you've got your head up your arse

Wayne Carey was asked on Fox Footy what we need in terms of recruits and he said a quick midfielder, key backman and another key forward.

Sees Nick Stevens as the next captain.....

I thought we also got smashed in the ruck today even though the hitouts were pretty even. Lade and Brogan continually setup their midfielders and then had the ability to go forward

The decision to overlook a certain player in the PSD from the 2002 draft has definitely cost us

Always have been a fan of Brendon Lade....smart player, good tap ruckman and a genuine threat when he plays forward.....French and Mclaren are not in the same class...Brogan has been out of form through injury but when you add a fit and in form Brogan to help Lade they are probably the best combo going around....as they showed in Ports premeirship year...

French is a trier but doesnt have the alround game of a player like Lade and McLaren doesnt have the size or presence of a No 1 ruckman..

Over the next two drafts we need to stop recruiting bit part ruckman and get a real deal quality rookie ruckman or two....Cameron Wood was probably a player we should have looked at a bit more closely..
