the melbourne city council have come out and claimed the AFL is trying to bully them into investing 8 million into the redevelopments.

they have not included any money towards any funding of the suposed projects and are furious that the AFL and state government have announced this

How cheeky are Collingwood - $10 mil for a ground no-one uses!

I hadly think we could have convinced the AFL and State Govt. to givce us extra cash for a Museum or Hall of Fame - especially given that we have more pressing needs...
I'm sure the redeveloped social club will have space for our extensive collection (hopefully better secured than it is now...).

It'll be up to us, when fit, firing and financially viable again to build our own. And it'll be all the sweeter because of it.

Maybe the council could use the money they're hoping to save when they get rid of childcare in the City of Melbourne.

They're currently moving to turn their centres into "community run" models where the parents run the centre. Which begs the question "If your child's in child care it's obviously becasue you are time poor - so where is a person in this situation going to then find the time to run a child care centre?"

I was always under the impression that councils existed to provide services. Turns out they exist to fund trips overseas for a small bunch of self-interested flowers.

Clown Hall rides again... :?

But I digress...

I potted the Board last week but I congratulate them now. Well done to the Board for all the work in getting this up and running.

I'd be congratulating the Execs, not the Board on this one....

City of Yarra who are an interesting coucil and pass it around at their meetings. ;)

Great news for Carlton and work by the board to get this deal done for the Blues. But it's an interesting comparison how $12.45 million gets Carlton all these facilities, yet $10 million buys Victoria Park a refurbishment of the Social Club and change rooms, groundskeeping, landscaping, a cafe and retention of a few turnstiles. :?

The Heritage council will try to stop the demolition of Gardiner Stand given their fondness for bird droppings and rotting timber.

Sainters redevelopment.

They're putting up $8 million of the $16.5 million.

$1.50 of which is going toward the Sainters' Hall of Fame.

Which one would you rather have?

Great work by Carlton if this is the design.

Go Blues!

The others ones look no better than the rooms you have at local suburban footy clubs (butt out Mandy! ).

I'd be asking for money back if I was the MCC, State Government or AFL.
