Just heard on Sen this morning from a supposed family friend of Kouta's that he busted his hand when tackled on the weekend whilst having the ball in one hand and landing on it..

He will miss 3-6 weeks....

Seeming as he has been lackluster of late, does this mean that we wil perform better with someone more energetic replacing him??

I think that is qiute possible.....

If he has broken his hand, it would explain the footage on Fox Footy after the game that I saw.

Having said that, it does not explain his lacklustre performance over the past few weeks.

Tanking would be leaving him in.

With or without a broken hand.

Time to do the honorable thing Kouta and follow Wanganeen and Leppitsch's lead.

As much as i think Kouta too should retire. I don't think that he should do it now and not give himself a chance to play again this season.
What i think would be ideal is if he announced that this season was and is his last but leave open the window of opporunity to play again if fit.

GWS Wangers and Leppa weren't club captains and as such it was easier for them just to give it away mid season. A tougher decision for Kouta however. :-D

But his time is near...

Sadly, I think Kouta's time has come. I can't believe it was his hand that was making him look like the QEII turning around last weekend.

Couldn't be worse timing for Kouta. Hope he can finish his career with a couple of real Captain's Games to finih off our season.

I think it happened when he accidently dropped his pay packet on it! :-D

Seriosuly though, I don't think he should retire now. I reckon, as some others have said, he should announce it's his last season and make it back for some games with perhaps a fitting final tribute being the Collingwood game in the second last round.

Like most have said it is sad for Kouta, but best for the club. We need to get someone else in that will work hard and show what they have got. Kouta has been a champion for the club, but his time is up. I hope he comes back for a few games to end his career.

So will Whitnall be the stand in Captain? We may have to get used to it - if Synbad doesn't get his way

So who will play for him, we have to assume a midfielder will get his spot for how ever many weeks he is out for, maybe a chance for Russell to get a month straight in the midfield.

It would probably be rotated between the 3 VC's (Lappin, Lance, Stevens).

If Kouta doesn't play against the Kangas it will be the first time since 1968 that Carlton have fielded a side without at least one Carlton Premiership player.

But it is time for him to go. Like some other posters I would like to see him announce that he will retire at the end of the season and play the last 2-3 games of the year.

He was an absolute champion in his day, but at the moment Kouta is the biggest over paid joke Carlton have had on their books since John Elliott.

Step out before Fevola, Lappin & Murphy (our new three joint captains) over throw you big fella.

Interesting stat... would McLaren be the only premiership player in the side full stop?

In that case... we'd have no premiership platyers on the list other than Kouta?

Lets hope synbad never does.the playing group would sacked then hired then saked then the board the coaching staff,Then he would put in the labor party to run us right into the ground.then he would sack and hire and sack again.

talk about fickle.
