You surely missed Kouta he surely was in attendance.

I'm surprised that has not been a thread on this but Kouta was in QLD on Friday night much to the disgust of Robert Walls on 3AW who thought he should have been there supporting the young kids. I agree with Wallsy on that one.

Not sure what Kouta was doing in QLD other than perhaps thinking about his future..........................

You're disgusted and you don't even know the reason he was in QLD?

In this day and age of missing the birth of babies and brothers weddings and what not, I know there has been no death in his family or a wedding or a birth.

If there is a super surgeon in QLD that is hoping to give Kouta a bionic hand to get him back on the field, then I am not sure why he was there.

The club apparently stated that he was on a break.

He should have been at the game as he is the Captain.

Having said all that, this conversation does not belong in this thread.

I realise we're in total Kouta bashing mode around here, but as you stated the club said he was on a break.

Its not uncommon for players to get up to some warmer weather and away from the lub to recuperate from injury. Kosi has been up to QLD for a break after his injury.

As everyone points out, he's not a leader anyway so it's not like the kids are going to miss him.

He may be having an extended break up there and will join the boys in Brisbane this weekend to support them.[/quote]

Yep, he's become the most expensive forward scout ever!

Hey TBB i have never been a Kouta basher and do see him as the best Captain for the club at present.

So let's drop the sarcasm in relation to me knocking him.

The fact that he is injured [short term] is no reason for hm to take a holiday a week after the mid season break.

Kosi is in a totally different situation to Kouta in terms of him having a break given the number of injuries that he has had and the Saints ensuring that he does not lose his mind sitting on the sidelines again.

He earns big money, he is the Captain of a struggling AFL club and leads a group of very young men. His place was at the Dome sitting with Pagan in the box - like every other AFL captain who is injured.

I agree. If there is no other reason other than to get away and relax for a week or two then I'm very disappointed. He probably has 3 months of his career remaining and should definately be giving himself to the club pre and post match as captain but regardless of his earnings.

ZING!

Have to agree though... Either he should have been in the box, or the club should have given a better reason than "he's on a break" for him going missing. It makes a mockery of our club that the captain speaks like a dunce and has no idea about leadership.

That's inexcuseable, of course he should have been at the game.

That's not what it's about. It's about supporting your mates, especially when the chips are down, more so when you're supposed to be captain.

With our bunch of kids, we need a Captain that will offer that bit extra not just the bare minimum.

i am probably stating the obvious, but despite him being captain, I never ever thought of Kouta as a great leader....great player, but not a great leader...

I like Kouta a lot, but we are getting a degree of leadership from Lance and Fev at the moment, probably could use a lot more on field more leadership, but we havent got the experience in the team
to do this.

If you want to be a captain then it carries certain responsabilities. Injured or fit he should be at every game representing the club, whether it be in the box, encouraging players in the rooms pre-game or at the presidents dinner.

Well there is always a trade off when you go for the real big money isnt there????

He didnt think he would just receive it and there would be no obligation did he???

Hamill will be next to get kicked....

Just an example for any player who thinks theyre worth the mega bucks in future....of what not to do.

We've had some differences in the past Synbad about Kouta but this is one time that we both agree for what he is being paid, back-ended contract or otherwise, he should have been at the game.

DuC .. in my opinion Kouta has been too comfortable recently.
In my opinion again and im only stating my opinion... i reckon he has lacked in the passion stakes and just gone through the motions.
There are times he could have chased and doesnt.

I remember last year when Fev was suspended and Campo had been suspened earlierand Kouta had a Herald Sun .
The question was asked "Did you have a word with Campo and Fev about responsibility?"
He said "I did have a word with Fev" (Later that night in the 3 aw box when Fev was asked what did Kouta say to him...Fev replied "Thats news to me!"

On Campo .. Kouta said... "Campo is an experienced player and i didnt have to have a word to him... Campo knows better!"

And then on the field Kouta just hasnt looked interested unless the ball was right there.

Its not about Kouta bashing... its about accountability .. Our skipper hasnt been accountable in so many ways... and that rubs off!!...

Kouta doesnt need a holiday.... why the hell would Kouta need a holiday???

If that's true then he is gutless for 'telling' Fev thru the Herald Sun and not to him directly. This is not the actions of an AFL Captain.

I now wonder why he was given the captaincy in the first place - it's not like he was going anywhere with his contract and although he was a great player for us that does not translate into captaincy material.

Synbad - I have seen the light and it saddens me. :(
