We could always make Fabian DeLuca an offer he can't refuse.

it would be nice to see batson given a go in the ruck in the bullants seniors, or even in the ressies - it is a worry that they havent done that yet for him.

surely if they thought he was a promising ruckman, he would be played in the ruck? in any event, it probably would be a good idea to see if he can cut it at vfl level first.

I wouldnt mind seeing bryan given another go in the ones. His best form. ie. the sydney match, was by far and away the most dominant performance by a carlton big man for some time, much better than any game french or mclaren has played for us. If he can rekindle half of that form, he will be a fine addition.

I would promote Jackson.

For those of you who know my posts you'll no doubt know that i have huge wraps on this kid and no shit, i was jumping for joy when we picked him up as a rookie last season.

Jackson remindes me of a young Craig Bradley and one that will have a long career with the Blues.

Bring him in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Anybody know if a rookie can earn a rising star nomination?

I haven't seen Jackson play, how is his pace?

"Jesse Smith and Craig Flint are pretty close to it, but they just haven't done quite enough to get a game and we certainly won't put them on until they're ready to play," Pagan said on Wednesday at MC Labour Park.

"(Jackson) had such a terrific game on the weekend with a 27-possession game in the VFL and he certainly comes under consideration.

"He (Jackson) probably hasn't played the whole year in the VFL - he played a couple of games in the VFL reserves - but he certainly shows something and it's not beyond the realms of possibility at one stage that he might get a chance too."

Was Pagan on the happy juice when doing that interview? He has just ticked every box for what I want in the remainder of the year. Lets hope it comes to fruition.

sounds like jackson is going to get elevated pretty soon and if i go by the word of TC people who actually go and watch him play im pretty happy with that and i hope we give him at least 1 game.

It would be good if it happened, but I can't see it happening this year because we have a lot of blokes that aren't rookies who aren't getting a game. There is the money factor as well. But if it was to happen I would like to see Jackson get promoted ahead of Smith and Flint.

Pagan says they won't be promoting anyone until they're ready for senior selection and none have done enough yet. Currently 3 spots available. May have a chance if perform well in the VFL.

Completely different philosphy to Terry Wallace. Terry has given nearly all his youngsters a chance and most some of them have improved by having this senior experience.

It must be a money issue.

I agree, but how sad if it's not.

Heard from good sources that the leadership group want Jackson promoted to the senior list to be tried for the next few weeks.
Pagan has gone against this preferring to pick either Teague, Livo or Sporn.
Good to see that our super coach is creative and looking to the future. Very selfish but at least it will guarantee us a priority picks.

I dont understand Pagan's thinking...having done enough or not I would still be trying players out in the big time...Apart from the money issue I dont see why we are not promoting a rookie ..
Brisbane obviously have a different philsophy and I doubt if Stiller had done enough but opportunity sometimes brings out the best in players..I think the Lions have promted nearly all their rookies to cover a injury depleted list..
Jason Roe is another who has shown plenty...why are we so conservative.?

I enjoy going along to watch the Bullants and I am sure that if the people who claim to know so much about these players went to the games as well they may be a little more knowledgable.Clearly the choice at the moment is between Flint and Smith. Flint started off the season well and has good skills but is looking rather tired at the moment. On the other hand Smith missed pre-season due to injury and seems to be in top shape and is playing excellent football, on the improve week after week. He consistently shows tremendous courage and great skills,in fact in the dying moments of last weeks game at Sandringham it was Smith who intercepted on two occasions and saved the game for the Bullants. I believe he is the perfect choice for elevation and on his current form and am sure he won't dissapoint.

bloos,

do u think that smith is quick enough for afl? seeing as bentick is struggling at afl level because of his pace (ie. being run off by his opponents), do u think smith will be different?

I have noticed rcently that smith is able to take a strong mark now and then, which adds a dimension to his game, which bentick certainly doesnt have, but I havent seen smith dominate a game in the bullants yet. With the type of player he is, he really should be getting 25+ possies a game before he could ever be considered for afl.

what r your thoughts on that bloos?

Maybe the players should be making all the decisions then.

If Nick Stevens says he'd like to play at full-back this week on Brad Ottens, thats where he should line up because its creative. How selfish of Pagan to want to play him on the ball.

How about we let the coach decide when someone is ready to play or not. He's held Simmo, Blackwell and Russell back despite the cries to play them and they've benefitted from playing for the Bullants a little longer.

We'd actually be more certain of getting priority picks if we played the kids.
