I have been wondering why we haven't yet tried Setanta in the ruck. Obviously he would first need to be "educated" with the Bullants in this position for a considerable period of time.

At 198cm with an excellent vertical leap wouldn't this be his best suited position?

A couple of other players in Brogan and Maric who took up the game at a late age have flourished in this position. I realise that there is a lot more to rucking than just "jumping and thumping" however it would probably be easier for Setanta to become adept at the art of rucking as opposed to learning to become a key defender.

Any thoughts?

Humpers, I have alway seen Carlos as a defender rather than Forward and more so now because our Forward line is looking pretty good.

Carlos and his brother should be taught together by Gary Dempsey with Aisake taking the number 1 ruckman position and Carlos, pinch hitting around the ground.

Tricky one with Sentanta...

To develope as a ruckman you need to have a good understanding of the game first i believe..

I don't know if he is hard enough to be a ruckman..He also doesn't seem to be efficient in throwing his bodyweight around.

Seems too unbalanced and nervous which is what you would expect considering his pathway to AFL.

Fingers crossed he makes it...

And by the time he is experianced his body will be reminding him of all the times he thought he was invincible.................

Put more time into Asaike because he has more time, and plenty of promise.
