Carlton God was wrong about the Essendon* result.

It's a long and winding road we have ahead of us.

No... now we are.

MMM trying to suggest Fev staged being knocked out, stretcher came out so that took him out of the game.

Was on fire until that point.

Like I said before I'm not pro-tanking in terms of deliberately going out to lose matches, but this is fuel to the fire for those who are in that camp.

I'm just giving everyone the heads up: this thread is about to burn a bit brighter than it was.

I honestly don't think he would have been staging, but someone has said it on the radio, so away it goes...

He copped an accidental elbow to the head from Bryan (who apologised in the rooms straight after the game) which knocked him out.

Anyone that listens to MMM and takes it all for truth is asking for trouble.

Fev keeps taking steps I reckon. Denis would have put it on him at half time today - Fev is a leader!

You would rather win and miss out on all that talent than lose and get it all? Interesting.

Given that it would never arise, why raise the possibility?

Irrelevant argument.

It's not irrelevant at all. It's perfectly relevant. All of you sheep on your moral high ground keep saying 'the day I want Carlton to lose a game is the day I stop following football', well i have just given a scenario where you would all want Carlton to lose

Carlton God

There's no way a loss would ever deliver us talent like that in one fell swoop.

And I have never, ever said I wouldn't watch footy if I wanted Carlton to lose.

That's just you simplifying, as usual.

I DON"T GET IT!!!!

It doesn't make sense.

Who said it will be our ticket to premiership success?

I don't recall anyone making THAT statement

You must have a bad memory for someone so young then.

It has been said on many occassions on this board that the priority pick this year is the only way we will win the next premiership.

They've said it will contribute, but it won't be the sole factor that makes us win a flag

Some things just make sense. Like looking both ways before you cross the road, McDonalds being bad for you, ice cream on hot days, and Carlton having a very poor list and needing to bring in as many quality young players as possible.

Unless we make a horrible blunder, any top 20 pick in this year's draft is going to be better than anyone we delist this year. Hence improving our side going forward.

So it's better to have 3 picks in the top 20 than 2 picks. Isn't it?

So pick 18 will, but pick oh I dunno say 25, won't? Despite all historical evidence proving categorically that such an assumption has no basis?

I'm confused.

That is absolutely logical.

But so is economic rationalism. Impossible to argue with because the theory is so pure and simple.

Yet it doesn't generally work in practise.

and as verbs pointed out the PP isn't an extra pick, its earlier but I'd argue pick 707 might just be better than some of our blokes (and yes 707 is a jet plane, and yes I wish some of our blokes would leave).
