A third AA for the Blues perhaps?

Yep - not bad but a bit silly to even bother making the comparison with Judd.

When Heath can rip a game apart in 15 minutes okay but for now he'll have to settle with being a very handy player who's stepped up a couple of notches this year in my book.

No doubt a great pickup for pick #38 in the draft.

Well done Heath.

Pick #35 actually.

I think Brent Hall has only played the single game. May not have played a game at all.

Great pick up. He does get plenty of uncontested possessions, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. He covers more ground than just about anyone else in the league, and generally has great disposal.

I am sure that Collingwood is regretting this one. :-D

While not all of the deals we did back then have come to bear fruit like this one, we generally have done better out of the deals than those we delt with:
Scotland - a big win
Teague & Morrell for McKernan - another definite win for us. McKernan barely played a game and had no impact. Digby was unlucky not to remain. Teague was a B&F winner (and really deserved it). Not champs, but clearly better.
McGrath for Murphy - another clear win. Corey is still playing good footy, but Murphy and Allan are long gone.

Didn't Lappin deserve it that year?

yeah i thought both lappo and stevo had better seasons than teague that year but teague was still a deserved winner.

Lappin was All-Australian that year and so should have won our best and fairest, but we have an "interesting way" to tally the votes.

Heath will no doubt come under serious consideration for All-Australia status this year. I hope that he makes it. Fev sure will. Lance will struggle as his season has tapered off. Murph would have been pushing it if he had played the whole season.

Heath has been fantastic for us this year. It would be fantastic if he managed to top it off with AA selection.

Can you read?

Quote:
In uncontested possessions, Scotland has amassed 387. That puts him second in the league, while he is also ranked second for handball receives (233). So he doesn't win the hard ball you say?

Wrong. He is ranked second at Carlton in contested possessions (124) and his 54 hardball gets are the best at the Blues.

Definitely a good pick up for a pick #35 but worth remembering that at the time of that pick both Amon Buchanan (pick #45) and Michael Rischitelli (pick #61) were available. Obviously Scotland was a safer bet at that stage and we were culling a large number of older players at the time but who would you want in the side out of those three at the moment?

Would you do a straight trade of Heath Scotland for Buchanan or Rischitelli this trade week?

For pick 35 we got our moneys worth...his skill level is good on both sides and he is reliable....very happy with his form this year...

He is also very strong in the hips.He is hard to tackle.Always has had ability.A classic case of a young guy who struggled to get a game for another club because there were too many players of the same ilk.Is unaccountable at times I agree but has set up more goals than has goals kick on him.Suck shit filth.
