Well according to the recruiting manager at the Crows, chasing Gibbs is worthless because they have every intention of getting him back in 2 years!

WTF - F&^K OFF

Sat next to his father at the Swans v Melbourne game earlier this year and he was not a Carlton supporter growing up. Can't remember exactly who but it was not Carlton, might have been St Kilda because I remember his father talking about Stewie Loewe being an idol of his, but I can't remember for certain. His father played for South Melbourne - remembered playing against the tough Carlton backlines of the 70s and against Ditterich and those thug tactics that Big Carl employed.

Funny thing, is that his father thinks that Nathan Carroll "is sh*t and can't play".

For me Miller or Thornton are oon even par...

If they want him so bad then i 'd say ok this is the deal...

We give you Thorton and a third/fourth rounder nand you give us Miller and a second/third rounder.

Signed and sealed... Miller also has more mongrel , and that is something we do lack... :-D

If that's the case, we should be trying to squeeze them both into the line up... Trade them Fisher - he'd be an excellent foil for Neita/Robbo/Davey.

Thornton AND Miller

If Thornton and Miller are on a par, it would be pointless trading them.

flower PAY THORNTON WHAT HE'S WORTH AND RE-SIGN THE BASTARD!!! NOW!!!!

AND FISHER!!!

Miller = PSD

or they can have Houlihan and not much else.

OR

WHITNALL FOR MILLER!

I'd like Miller for his agression, something we need desperately. Not sure I'd trade him for Thornton though.

If money is the issue it depends what Miller is being paid or was prepared to sign on for.

Just re-sign Thornton

As I asked in another thread - how much would we have to pay to get Rivers to Carlton? or Harris? or MacGregor? You'd have to pay at least 300K - so that's Thornton's value.

I think you'll find that it's Hawthorn who have offered Thornton 325k/3 years, whereas Thornton is asking Carlton for 300k/3 years....

If so, another reason to get rid of Pagan...

NB - IF so...

..lookit, we need Thornton, pure and simple.. ..and in our current shitty state, we have to pay him what he wants.. ..there's no point playin' hard ball when it takes you backwards.. ..and if you think we can do without him yer got rocks in yer head.. ..we need another few quality backmen immediately.. ..trading him for another only mainatins the balance, and currently our backline is shizen..

..Brad Miller i'd take quite happily.. ..we're a team of marshmellows, and i'd happily take him in, even with his suspension happy tendacies.. ..and i'd play him CHF.. ..play Waite and Fisher on the flanks, Kennedy needs to play in a forward pocket until he can cut it CHF.. ..Edwardo Betts needs to be nailed to the other FP..

..Miller leads right up into the centre which is exactly like how i want my CHF's to play.. ..it creates space and it's a good, quick way to get the ball into the F50.. ..he also provides a bit of flexibility, in case the Whitts is havin' a dog day down back..

..bottom line is, we can't afford to lose any decent players, let alone quality players.. ..we have as much depth auskick, and about the same on-field toughness.. ..we need to rake in good players, forget dreams of star players cos that ain't gonna happen while we remain a mockery of an afl side.. ..we are shizen, and it's gonna be a slow crawl into the dream of mediocrity fer us.. ..all you folks hangin' yer hats on yer pipe-dreams need to put aside the vaseline and take stock of where we are.. ..shizen..

..that said, i hope we don't make a balls up come trade week.. ..someone pass me some vaseline..

Tell me is TBird really a KPP?

No we cant afford to loose talent but I wonder what his real value is. In a good/gun side he is neither a FB nor a CHB he has too many deficiencies in his game, lack of size and weight being the most noteable. Setanta on Barry Hall did very well, I honestly think Brett would have been taught a lesson. Is a BP or a HBF really worth 325 pa in the modern game unless they have a few strings to their bow?

Honestly he may bring something for us at the trade table that we can use in the future. None of us here expect us to suddenly jump into the top four next year so its worthy of consideration.

Anyway those are a few questions I'd like some thoughts on. My honest feelings have been left aside when asking.
