He was fired by the Kangaroos, then where did Hawthorn finish in 2003-04?

Answer: Down near the bottom...

I guess that makes him the perfect candidate for tanking.

So who are the better candidate's that were willing to take the job?

The club could have announced that they had asked several candidates to be interviewed and that they declined and in the interests of due diligence, you'd think they would have.

Did the club announce that they had? If they hadn't, perhaps I could assume that they didn't pursue this course of action. If they did and didn't inform the members, then that's poor communication. Either way, it's shambolic.

Or they could appoint the guy, promote him and what he'll bring to the club and rely on the supporters and members to back their judgement.

Perhaps the other guys they interviewed are still in contention for the other 2 available positions and they dont want to compromise that process by announcing they'd missed out on the 1st postion.

Libba, TD, Denis and now Crosisca. Forget knowledge, experience and ability.... any chance we could get a coach with a 'normal' looking head?

Just waiting for Monky and Steve O'Dwyer to come on board. :)

Ratten also to be appointed to the coaching panel.

Bradley part time.

Anyone ever been in the coaches box with Crosisca? Anyone ever talked to the guy about his philosophies on football? Anyone? Or is it all based on assumptions again

Not me.

I have however listened to him address his players on several occasions and watched how he coaches.
I also heard him discuss AFL football at a luncheon when he was an assistant at Hawthorn.

Is that enough for me to have an opinion on the matter or do I have to sit in the box with him?

I'm not knocking the guy. I'm questioning the integrity of the selection process by the club. Did they interview 10 people or offer the job to one?
Unfortunately the latter is closer to the mark.

Well at least you have basis to form an opinion. I wouldn't have a clue what he is like as a coach, but I just get annoyed at comments by others on this forum who know nothing either and bag the guy becuase he has been associated with Pagan before.

Good point Knackers but surely when you're talking "Ordinary Heads" in football it's Scratcher Neal first and daylight (sorry, Perverill) second.

I don't think I'm a f***wit for thinking that Crosisca was an uninspired choice from pagan. I still stand by my opinion that he was chosen primarily because Pagan had worked with him before and therefore he gives pagan a degree of comfort.

This is not something that's going to help us go forward.

What's with the f***wit stuff anyway? People ARE allowed to have differing opinions...

People aren't allowed to have opinions that are in any way positive about the club.

Agree....political appointment ....the f***wits are the ones who made the appointment....
Nth Ballarat were a young team but I dont see Crosisca being a specialist in player development and he was as loose a half back as I have seen so i dont see him passing on much knowledge to the back six either.....
Along with Libba I dont see anything changing...and to be honest I dont see what Ratten will add to the forward line thinking....

http://nthballaratroosters.footballvic. ... aid=107730

[i]North Ballarat footballers are doing more than just learning how to play football at the highest level. A group of 17 FMP Roosters’ players are also taking part in a formal education program that will see each of them receive a Certificate III in Player Development at the end of the course.

Indicative of the high regard that the Club holds this program in, is the involvement of senior coach Gavin Crosisca. “Gavin was so encouraged by the program that he believed it would be invaluable to him and agreed to undertake the course himself,â€
