Whilst I was shocked to see Mcgrath get the flick I have to agree with one of the posters above who said if it is Mcgrath this year or next who cares.. yes he could have added depth, but essentially he isnt going to be part of our future so why bother.

Whilst I expect Chambers and probably Davies to still get de-listed we need to remember that players will be retained and de-list next year... with such a young list the club probably are of the view that by the end of next year Chambers, Longmuir, Prenda, Bannister etc. (meaning they had a list of lets say 10 and decided to cut some this year and retain contracted others) will be gone... but no point delisting all 10 in one year and leaving kids who are busy developing and could be ok (the players listed above have developed and are still crap) to be cut the following year because we need to make room on our list..... Yes it may sound stupid why keep them if they arent in our plans but look at every teams list and they do it.... keep good clubmen (teague) around the place even though they arent the way forward

Even if Chambers and Davies both get cut, there are still a few out there to finish in '07. Kouta will be one, and you'd think the following players could be candidates under the right circumstances - Bannister, Teague, Saddington, De Luca and Bryan.

See without even touching the kids we have 6 candidates floating around. Add it Houlihan as a trade or a possibility of being delisted an one or two kids I don't think we'll have a problem. Lapping is getting on too.

And by '08 some of the kids who will have been around for 3-4 years by then will be in the firing line. So i think cutting 2 or even 3 more is justifiable IF the club thinks it can get value in the draft.

And that's not an attack on the players, listed, just a frank appraisal of the list and those that probably are candidates for moving off the list within 24 months.

joncy I only know of 1 for certain and the risk of me saying more than 1 and getting it wrong is that I'd have to leave TC forever...

ps why is it so hard to spell molsey right? Should I change the name to Mols?

I wish all the boys who have been delisted all the best for their futures, whether that be at other AFL clubs or maybe in the VFL. Would love to keep a few of them at the Ants for next year.

Sorry to be like a grumpy old man... but I just need to say it REALLY annoys me when people say "I would like to thank... for their services"... do you think after getting de-listed they would say "ok let me read TC now!!!!". Ratehr discuss if it was good or not rather than thanking them... I will say now "ON BEHALF OF ALL TC'ers THANK YOU ALL DE-LISTEES" we happy?????

If i was in his position and not playing footy all year when he was contracted and in fear of being axed,i would ask the club if i can play for free to keep my spot and to payback for the year. I remember hearing a player from the Hawks wanting to do that.

Raso,who is Raso,never seen the guy in a Carlton side,why does everyone think he will be any good, but will find out next year as he should be playing a few games.
