Has anyone actually listened to Brian Waldron on SEN. The guy is a fully qualified goose.

Not at my club thanks.

He plays up to the media to get them onside and can act the clown in doing so but you cant knock the Storms efforts this season and he is big factor in that success...

Completely lacks the poise, class and polish we desperately need to present a new face, a future face, for the club.

He presents as way too 'blokey' in his current media profile and that's not what we need. We need super professionals that appeal to blokes, businessmen, women, hot chicks and children.

His role on SEN is meant to be a blokey one. The Friday sports chat segment is based around banter between a few mates.

Make no mistake, Waldron is a very shrewd operator.

Trevor Nesbit is a hot chick magnet?......there must be hope for me....I dont reckon many kids could name you the CEO of their footy club either.
Waldron plays the blokey clown when he mixes it with Neil Balme etc on SEN but I am sure away from that segment he mixes with the collar and tie set and does the business....
Waldron has the ability to mix with all walks of life and when he takes calls on SEN and thats what you need.....we turned out back on the working class supporter when we were successful while teams like Essendon* embraced the duffle coat mafia and have them as adult supporters....Waldron is the type who could bring the working class rank and file back to the club.....you have to have your silver tails and your sponsors but when the chips are down its Mr and Mrs Average who stick with the club and they will embrace a bloke like Waldron...

Hot chicks was a joke Elwood.

I'm not sure he's turning the blokey charm on and off like a tap.

If he's up to the job, well and good, but my opinion is that he's not what we need.

Trevor Nesbit? Any day.

Campbell Rose has shown what a switched on operator can do.
Be willing to look past the regular footy heads and go for a business exec with great management skills and an understanding of marketing.

Is this the same Brian Waldron who brought St Kilda from a record loss (at the time) in 2002 to an operating profit in 2004?

Campbell Rose is a footy head, why would he do what he does?

And sorry guys, I'm not available.

I'll take John O'Neill but if we go for Grant Thomas, they've lost me for the length his tenure. Another tragic StKilda retard in the mould of Don Hanly. The Saints are f@###ing LOSERS. Carlton will win a flag before they do.

Grant Thomas can come to Carlton as long as he brings with him Nick Riewoldt :) :)

The whisper is that Carlton has approached John O'Neill - formerly of Soccer Australia (dont get me started on the merits of soccer vs football argument) and the NRL, and that he will join the Blues come the end of his tenure with Soccer Australia in March. Malouf will remain in his post until then but an easy transfer of power will take place.

Hope the whisper becomes a roar...he's be a brilliant get.

I doubt that we could afford O'Neill as he would command a huge salary.

If they are talking to him, then the money must be there, somewhere. There's plenty of money around the edges at Carlton, so to speak. Some of those pockets might just open up if they see that it will bring in the right people...

Or maybe I'm just hoping!!

It's a fair point thoug Humpers. You'd reckon he would have been on half a mill with the NRL, and closer to 7 Figures with the FFA. That's way out of any Club's ball park, let alone ours.

Unless...anyone know if he happens to be a Carlton supporter???
