In the 2007 Captains Club brochure they have pictured every captain since Barassi & Big Nick through to Kouta - over 40 years worth..........except Robert Walls.

Was this due to a lack of space, an oversight or deliberate coz he walked (more Ian Stewart's fault than his)?????

At the outset I want to say I am a Robert Walls fan.

He is a triple Premiership player of our club, a premiership coach, life member and legend of the club - he also kicked in $1000 to the Carlton Heroes Stand Project.

As a media commentator he has pulled no punches when criticising Carlton's performance over the past 4 years (and rightly so).

In football management he has been asked by a number of clubs to be involved in their selection process for a Senior Coach - I think the Western Bulldogs and St. Kilda are 2 recent ones that spring to mind.

His value to our Football Department would be inestimable IMHO - yet his input has been sadly not requested by the powers that be at the Carlton Football Club and that is very disappointing - to see his football knowledge used at every other AFL Club - rather than at his spiritual home.

I hope the oversight with the Captains Club brochure was just that a careless oversight. :?

i too have a soft spot for Wallsy and wonder if there is some underlying problem with some at the club that could be behind this. Its not like they were proofing the Encyclopedia Brittanica before publication.

and he has potted Pagan on more than one occasion on both Fox shows and Radio. Particulary his use of younger players and the interchange.

Just because other clubs value his opinion why would the rocket scientists at Carlton? :(
