Doesn't sound like a typical Essendon* supporter to me...sounds like he actually has a clue!

Surely TBM wouldn't be thinking of procreating with a Scum supporter....would you, would you, would you? :P

Sorry TheBluesMuse but I am bursting at the seams!!!

Eachother is not a word!!!! Even Dictionary.com doesn't recognise it, it is absurd.

And don't get me started on arguement.

Had to be done ... phew

Agreed! We have to be ruthless with our childrens decisions when it comes to football. God forbid Collingwood or Essendon* polluting my household.

You just have to make sure that they don't even know those other sides exist for as long as possible.

Before my wifes Richmond supporting family could even show up at the hospital, little Riley was a Carlton member and was wearing his first jumper.

Carlton.....I hope.

HTP!!

Anyway, Irregardless is moronic. Eachother and arguement are plain lazy.

Irregardless is not a word!!!! Even If Dictionary.com recognises it, it is absurd.

It's either Irrespective..... or...... Regardless.....not...... Irregardless.

Irregardless makes no sense.

Feels better...phew

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=irregardless

Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so.

TheBluesMuse, for someone that doesn't know me from a bar of soap *and likewise* - pulling me up for a 'fictional' word, let alone calling the use of the word 'moronic' is something that I find more than a little amusing...

...we live in a country that prides it's identity largely on colloquialisms and rhyming slang (even G'day containing butcher-work on the English language) I find it a little rich for you to pull me up on something like 'irregardless'... a word that I believe makes sense in context REGARDLESS of whether it is a real word or not, simply on the weight of it being used for so long.

Considering the fact that forums are the last place you expect to see spot on spelling and grammar, I can only assume that you are one of those people that pay special attention to everything the person is saying, only because you want to jump up and say something the moment they put a foot wrong...

Wee-oor wee-oor - oh no, it's the pedantic police coming to take you away to hyperbole-traz!

I just hope your Essendon-supporting partner words his sentences carefully!

They way I look at it is, if you are inclined to ignore the absolute absurdity of the word and use it then maybe you should be ready to be laughed at?

I don't care for grammar or spelling much (luckily) this is totally different. It's just me being my old self and expressing my dislike for such a stupendously ridiculous word....it baffles me that it has gained popularity.

Why is it all about drama on these bloody boards?

Take me with a grain of salt SB, I even used two words that didn't exist in my post, as HTP pointed out. :) The fact that Irregardless exists is just plain stupid IMO. It isn't logical it's like saying something is "beyond disrepair".

Mate, it would be grounds for divorce if he went around using that word :-D
