Ok...I may have been unfair in my assesment of Bentick so far...He has been OK...but if your not going to give him any game time, he's probably better of developing in the VFL...Now this is NOT bagging Bentick in ANY way, all im saying is that he deserves a full game and if he isn't going to get it in the Blues side, then he should have a full game with the Bullants and I agree that this is unfair but Bentick will have his time to shine soon enough...

PS: Just disregard my initial post...It's been a long day and im kinda cranky   ...

Quite happy with that line up. Namely Davies on the pill and Houlihan on wing... is it just me or is he a completely different player kicking out of defense to kicking inside 50. Hmm... turnover central or Fevs tit. Thornton holds the key.

Make no mistake the Loins :) are still vunerable... if only footy were played on paper... and we weren't playing for picks

just when you get your hopes up and see
OUT: Bentick, Clarke, Morell

you look down to the ins and you see
IN: Bowyer, Johnson, Sporn

its a never ending rotation of duds...

I don't mind seeing Johnson and Sporn in, gives them a last chance to prove their worth, but I don't see the point of playing Bowyer. They're doing some very strange things down at Princes Park.

At the risk of being shouted down, I think Bentick is slow and it has showed up in the past few weeks.

Time is on his side as he's young, and he can find the ball, but there isn't too much room for slow players in this game, unless you're of the Sam Mitchell mould.

Needs to improve his speed by 25%.

How in the hell does Prenda still get a game?

Agree, I really don't understand the selection of Bowyer - he's not our future. Would much rather see Chambers, Setanta or Russell in. Certainly should have picked Setanta over Prenda. Really want Karl back in this side.. We're at round 12 and I still don't think we've got our selections right.

I don't understand :(

AB at least goes in and tries to get the ball...locks it up at the stoppages and is a good tackler...but has spent too much time on the bench. Give him a full game please.

Clarke, Bowyer, Johnson....I like them all as blokes...but they are interchangeable as players.

Uninspiring changes this week.

Were bringing in the bigger bodies against the Lions at the expense of long term player development of guys like Bentick and Simmo...

Blue Mark will be happy... fingers crossed we scrape over the line....

They should have left it at...

OUT: Clarke
IN: Johnson

Am baffled at why they dropped Digby and AB.

Geez bring in some kids, or leave them in, so I've got something I can get super-excited about!!

Methinks that Johno may have been included (as backup) coz of Kouta's injury cloud. Anybody know how the Koutaman trained this week?

Other than that these changes are meaningless AFAIC. Very, very disappointed to see Bentick dropped!

Hmm, I know Denis knows what he's doing, but I can't really see the point of the yoyo selection policy that seems to exist.

Agreed camelboy - next week we'll probably see Bannister & Simpson back in for a week or two, before it'll be Digby's turn again, as Davies & Bowyer make way......it's getting all too predictable really.

At the end of the year Bowyer, Clarke, Morrell, Sporn, Johnson, Bannister, Wiggins, Prendergast, Norman, Davies, Longmuir and Chambers will all be vying for a couple of vacant positions on our list. They all deserve the chance to fight for them.

It's a valid point you make malleefowl, but do you think some of them are being given enough of a go to show their wares? The likes of Deluca and Sporn were given far too long IMO, whereas guys like Diggers & Simpson were not.

I'm a big fan of Digby's. For someone with minimal talent he uses it to his very best. I would have liked him to stay in the side as he just gives us some big man flexibility. I'd like him at the club at least another year.

I don't think Simmo is in danger of being chopped at the end of the season. He is still developing as I see it and some full games for the Bullants tearing up the opposition won't hurt.

I'm not in favour of massive trades at the end of the season. As we have seen in the last few years they leave you no better off. The best way for the future is bringing through the talented kids. That means that some of these so-so players will play a year or two more than they are worth.

The other thing to keep in mind is that players like Kouta, Campo, Lappin, Barnaby and maybe Lance will have to be replaced over the next couple of years if they're not traded beforehand. So some more senior players will be needed to help the kids coming through.

Can't argue with that logic malleefowl. I'm not happy to see Sporn back in the team I have to say - he adds nothing to the team.

Not too concerned about the outs:

Morell - Mid size, not tall enough, too slow, not the future
Bentick - too slow, yes he may average 9 posessions a game but how many of them are effective.
Clarke - No need to explain.

Bit concerned about the Inns - not much pace, struggle to hit a target and break the lines.

Would have preferred Simpson, Longmuir and Karl.

Year after year, we never seem to be able to remedy this lack of pace situation....frustrating as all hell.
