If you are a fan, you leave when you want.
If you are a supporter, you leave when the game is over.

Yeah, righto...

Who gives a toss if the kid left?
He was obviously bored/disappointed/frustrated and couldn't take it any longer.
Does that make him any less of a supporter?

I think people questioning other people's loyalty and support to their respective clubs need to have a good hard look at themselves.

Stick to your guns, Shag.
If you want to leave, leave.

Of course you can leave before the game is over...there are many reasons for doing so...kids, trains, traffic...

but I hate leaving before it ends...just feels like I'm giving up...and I hate the jeers from the opposition

But I always wonder...will the ones who leave early week in, week out be the most arrogant/obnoxious type of supporter when we get back onto the winning track?

They are the ones I have an issue with

Id never leave early because its a bigger embarsment to walk through the laughs and the jeers with your eyes looking nowhere in particular from embarassment.

Ever notice that those who leave early never look anyone in the eye till theyre out???
Nothing worse in my opinion than head down and tail between your legs.

Personally I would never leave early and I can't understand people that do...I know that they will say that they can do what they like etc and maybe they can but personally I just wouldn't leave before the end.

I don't know what message it's trying to send...you stick with the side through the good and the bad in my opinion..it's also embarrassing I reckon leaving early and to be honest I see it as quite pointless anyway.

Im a self confessed leaver earlier.. the only reason is to miss the swarms of people flooding the trains or the cars in the carpark.
I dont give a rats tossbag what people think of me. I havent missed a game in Melbourne for almost a decade so they can think what they like.

The most important thing is that you go to each and every game. Once you're there, you can leave when you want. If we're down by 80 points all you're gonna miss is junk time footy.

This is Jeff Gieschen's most important part of the game - where the free kicks can be all evened out after all the damage has been done.

I'm trying to leave this whole season early.

I don't want to miss the gravy train! (aka "The National Draft")

He does have some mongrel in him... and if theres is one thing we lack its mongrel.

Good to see Walker gave it to Akka.. physically , verbally and on the park...!!!

Synbad, I agree 100%. I am a big fan of Davies. He has the quality and he did get a turn in the midfield in this game. He got out a few nice handballs... but what we need are more goals from him. The coaching staff should show him footage of the games where he kicked those 3 or 4 goals against the Pies and remind him of what he is capable of in front of goals.

He should alternate midfield/forward pocket.. but in this match started around centre half forward and ran into the midfield for the most part.

I was also happy with Houlihan's game in parts. Sure he made mistakes but he was willing to take risks, run on and attack the footy. He was pro-active in the early part of the game as opposed to being reactive.

Keep Houla around. He is still youngish and can improve.

I was right behind Davies first goal....confidence...awareness... a beautiful kick early in the match.....

Then late in the third...he ran after his player and ran straight past the Brisbane player who had been called to play on after the mark. I'm talking dropping his shoulder to get around him.
Confidence shot...awarenss shot, panicking running after the guys you are on ...all within the space of a half.

That's the tale of our season also!

His confidence looked sky high after he kicked that goal. It was great to see.

I agree with tap in 79 who said the coaching staff should show him those goals again. Show him what he can do, and how happy he looked after he kicked them.

I have left early on occasion. AND EVERY time, I look at opposition supporters in "the eye" as I depart. I almost smerk at them like "So what, we'll nail you next time" - I don't give a sh*t what they think.
