The question is have you ever played the game? Here's the firestorm. Arrrr whats the point if you don't know how good Kouta was last night then you have not played the game!

Firstly, Arrr - couldn't be bothered - go and lentil yourself.

1. Encouragment for younger players - do u think Bryan was encouraged last week when stevens took the kickout duties from him immediately after the incident in which the umpire INCORRECTLY called Bryan for stepping over when kicking out? I doubt it
2. Giving others a spray - Last I checked, Thornton gives more players a spray than probably any other player on our list. Regardless of whether its actually there fault, Thornton is prone to give a spray whenever he gets beaten by a direct opponent. No problem with the competitiveness but that aspect of his game is something that he needs to work on before he can actually be a good leader.

1. Umpires call was correct you can't TOUCH the line when kicking out.

2. Agree about Thornton while their is no doubts about his talent his abuse of Walker was a disgrace. I was sitting behind that incident and it was purely Thornton's fault. We had possession in the back pocket where Thornton zoned 30m off JBrown to the top of our goalsquare to make an option and was ignored. The ball was then kicked long from the backpocket to the wing Thornton just stood still making no attempt to pick Brown up. Brisbane won possession and kicked it long and high Thornton then realised Brown was sitting under it and took off the only reason Thornton nearly made it is because it was kicked so high. Walker and Aker were close by with Walker trying to get position on Aker when he saw Brown under it then he made a late attempt to spoil but missed mainly because he was trying to cover Aker first. We then saw Thornton's outburst where Walker should have turned to him and said "Brett I understand your frustration but if you ever talk to me like that again I'll smash your F****** Head in".

And good thoughts on Stevens 4thchick now where have I heard those thoughts before?

Now I'm off to find a Stevens thread.................................................

Shit thats surprising only a Campo thread and nothing about the Superstar.

Hypothetical...

if we free up the 650k that Campo gets at the end of the year - does that give us enough room to entice Luke Power to Carlton?

Surely we could pay Power 500k at least and surely he would be better value for money.

because we're eating our own? Or do you just dislike Camporeale for daring to attack your little boy Holland?

Neither. Do some research on my thoughts. It's no secret.

Simple question - no need for insults.

I was on the same plane to Perth as Eddie on Friday - I had no idea the guy was so 'blotchy'? Really red, raw skin - not sure if that's normal, we only ever see TV made up Eddie, perhaps he just had to run for the plane?

I'd love to stay and discuss the imperfections of Eddies complextion, but I have a game to go to and see my team get pumped.

Campo was off...

I agree with the statement that Campo has become a negative influence on the younger players, but possibly the rest of the team.

If not the VFL, then he must start from the bench next match - his attitude and example are very poor.

I submitted a very similar thread in TBV by the way - i have to admit I'm kinda glad to know I wasn't the only one thinking it, although really I'm not suprised!

My question is why does Kouta get dragged in to every discussion about Campo. Apples and oranges. Kouta leads from the front and is always encouraging the younger players while busting his gut at 32 with a wonky knee. Agro I have to disagree with you - I thought Kouta was our best on Saturday. In fact apart from the Swans game he has been our most consistent player this season.

Nothing like a good savaging to make people feel better.

Campo took a knock on his knee in the opening minutes of the game ( some of the more observant would have noted it), that agrevated his pre existing injury. Stayed on despite being encouraged to come off for treatment. He was unable to do much more than jog during the game and coud barely walk on it the next day.

like i said in another post, thats fair enough, but if all it takes for him to become useless is a knock to his knee he isnt right and shouldnt be playing.

Depends if the knock restricts your movement to the point where you can barely run. Campo should have missed at least a week if not two when he was originally injured as shoud have Stevens.

Just wondering have the knives been out for Fev as well because he played with an injury or is that different?

IIRC J.Brown taking a contested mark I think it was in third quarter where Thornton was i think distracted by Camporeale approaching Brown. The thing that caught my eye was Thornton giving it to Camporeale after Brown took the mark. The point Im trying to make is I sensed that maybe some of the players are sick of his sight on the ground. I hope im wrong but those group huddles that do these days seems a bit suger coated
What do u guys say?

That was actually Walker, not Camporeale. Was a bit disappointed in T-Bird giving it to Walks who was one of the few players busting their gut last night.

agree and disagree.

walker has a tag on AKA and did a great job, however, in that position, he effectively stopped T-Bird from getting to the ball, but Walker will learn from that, even in a tagging role like that, you cant afford to be total focused on your own opponent if it impedes upon your teammate getting to his own contest, but like i said, Walker will learn this as he gets more experience.

T-Bird is the captain for me - he fires up, gives someone a bake, i hope behind close doors he has a word to them, goes about his business and hates losing, everything a Captain should be.

I thought T-Bird did really well on Brown. We have to remember T-Bird has played around 50 games, Brown 100 so to be able to handle yourself well against probably the best CHF in the league is a tribute to where T-Bird is headed and how good he can be. It will be the new Jackovich v Carey IMO
