Arrividerci, ciao, au revoir Mr Lappin.

At 29, and wanting 3 years, you've got to be kidding.

Clubs are interested, so let's trade. Nothing less than a second rounder.

However, packaged up with Whitnall I'd be asking for a first round pick plus a regular senior player.

I'm not up to date with the trade rules, but can you package players in exchange for picks?

Certainly can, however, there is no more than 5 trades allowed. Or something like that.

Good. :D
Camporeale/Sporn - back to S.A
Whitnall/Davies - Whoever need two lazy players.
Lappin/Norman - Saints, they'll feel right at home. 8)
Pity other clubs aren't as naive as Carlton and it won't come off, Carlton would have been the very club to target these players.

In a former life I was present at a party where a comment was made to the original DP about the group of people chatting outside.

DP had sacked them all. They all got the hump but 3 years later were all understanding of the reasons.

Time to go back to those days. No keeping on footballers who were once great.

TY Lappo for the memories.

Welcome to a new lad!

F@%&#! him off.

Sick of these bastards thinking that we owe them.
In Lappin's case, he owes us.
We took him in when St.Kilda didn't want him.
We stood by him when he was getting into all sorts of trouble a few years back.

Absofuckinglutely.

I love the hard work Skinny has put in while we've been hard up, but we need to look forward to our new breed of champions, and not mortgage our future for nostalgia, like has been done so many times in the past.

Like it or lump it, Matt.

I'll wait til he dies before I bury him.

Metaphorically.

I hardly think a 3 line piece in MX is grounds for hanging.

He's 13 months old. Buy him a Jarrad Waite or Andrew Walker poster instead.

No one individual player is more important than the club.

surely we cant offer 29 yr olds a 3 yr deal at this time, pay market price for 2 yrsor give a trade option, but at 30 next yr hed hardly warrant a 1 st round pick 4 us, and god knows we do need quality at present, cant just have a team of 18 recruits.

Its funny how many of the other clubs have guys taking lesser deals so they can be part of something good with their mates.

It seems clear to me that these guys are threatening to walk because they don't want to hang around - they have no belief in the future of the team.

Probably best they go.

The way I see it is the players are either 100% committed to the club or they go elsewhere. It's either them or the coach. I think the coach needs to be given a chance to build a team around kids who really want to achieve something, rather than those who can remember when Parko or Britts would just let them play the way they wanted to.

Or has Lappin forgotten that it was Pagan that switched him to half-back and had him playing the only consistently good football of his career?

The club should reward Lappin who has been our best for the last 3 years.

That's crap. He's 29, not 25. He's downhill skiing, and the club needs to learn from past mistakes in offering long term deals.

The club owes Lappin NOTHING. We saved his career at the end of 98.

2 year deal or be shown the door.

Players will not, and should not, hold the club to ransom.
