i hope I dont have to wait that long Synbad :D

I have jsut realised I have never really been able to watch a successful Calrton side. Like the "Carlton of Old"

It wasnt to about 2001 - 2002 that I was really old enough to start to understand and suppourt the club properly. i have been invloved in a loser club culture ever since I started to passionatley support the club.

That is not a good sign for the current generation of fans my age. It will be many years untill we are the force we once were and I dont know if others my age (12-15) have the resolve to stick by the club. Once we get back on top will there be anyone left to cheer us of the MCG or will it just be you old coots :D

I would be more concered about this problem than a few picks in a dud draft

that's 1 way they win - and for them a small way. A mote in television God's eye.

the real win is to produce supporters who accept the cycle and get on baord when the team is up then hop off and become TV watchers when they are on the down cycle.

These supporters are not us - we're too old and set in our ways but you know what i noticed on Sunday - the lack of kids. How many bluebagger kids where at that gamer? @#$%&! all.

Oh they'll be back when we are winning again

and they'll watch on tv when we ar elosing again

pefect audience for the AFL.

I should know despite my rants and such my son is becoming a perfect example (along with many of his mates who support other teams) he sees my anguish, shrugs bemused and says 'don't worry dad we'll be crap for a few years get the best picks and then we'll be back - mthats the time to go see them.'

This is my great fear.

Carlton;s strength has always been the resilience of its supporter base

that resilience has been built on a single principle - always give 'em their money's worth.

In this crap comp that principle spells death

yet does tthe alternative ensure life?

Yet i dont know if our supporters have the guts to put up with this crap much longer dannyboy.

Weve already had 3 years on no success and I dont know how much more of this lack of success of the less passionate supporters. I cant see us being a force for at least another 3 years, probably longer.

I dont know if football will ever be what it once was now. In some ways television has ruined the game and in others it has made it more possible for other (like myself) who cant attend the game to watch it.

Ill tell you why there were so few kids there dannyboy. Who wants to go see Carlton play? There the laughing stock of the leauge. You will see more free flowing footbal watching the Auskick under 7s.

I myself are ridiculed for wearing a Carlton Gurnsey to training. They laugh at me and say why would you go for Carlton, there crap. This is why I fear for our great club. Who wants to support a club that you know you will be riducled and laughed at for showing your joy for it.

This is why I fear for our great club. There is no young blood coming through to cheer our future stars on.

why anyone would want 2 of the best 3 kids in the country over a couple more wins is beyond me.

For the greater good. Those 2 players will assist in our club winning more than (a possible) 4 games in the future.

Carlton are one of 3 teams who have beaten one of the best sides to compete in the AFL in the last 5 years.

We have talent. And selfish players.

When since has the past been as only as good as today?? As i have said to my St Kilda friends "in the past" By all their brillant analogies when the clock ticks over to the 25th September (if (hahaha) Saints win the grand final on the 24th) it becomes the past so dont dwell on it

the past becomes the past when you no longer produce in the present and are seen to have no future.

Don't take their uneducated crap.
Just stand their and nod silently or get on with training.
We all know what we have to do, it's the weaker people who are afraid to do it.

Sometimes I think you are an idiot and the other times I'm positive.

Get the admins to check the IP's would you and confirm for once and for all that I am not Carlton God. Just because there might be more than one person on a website who have similar views doesn't mean they are all the one person.

Friggin' knob-jockey !!

Never met the chap actually, he's probably an okay bloke but he's gone barking mad on this recent accusation.

Sheik, just because you have been accused of being CG doesn't mean you can call our posters knob-heads.

Geee, some of our posters would be honoured to be associated with CG! :P

Go the ball, not the man. (yadayadayada)

Aaah, sorry Mrs. C, but accusing me of being someone else isn't exactly kosher either is it ??

And as far as playing the ball, I got dragged into this by someone else playing the man.

A bit of consistency wouldn't go astray .................

IP addresses are hardly conclusive proof of much really. Anyone who knows how to get around such things can quite easily do so, in a very deceptive manner. :P

One's written manner, and style of delivery, are two things which give much more away, even when they are masked, or at least attempted to be masked.

The MSN comment a few days ago was very sus to say the least, don't you think?

As Callum Chambers' cousin!? :? sings...."True Colours...blah blah blah".
