Id like to add my name on a list that will go to the media as a protest that will hopefully educate the masses in the wider community about whats going on.

We need to sit down and think about what outcomes we are seeking to achieve and evaluate the various strategies before embarking on a media campaign. Having said that, I am willing to throw my hat in the ring and join Synbad if this is likely to serve its purpose and destabilise Smorgon's re-election campaign.
I am not familiar with the Carlton board room machinations, however it by all accouts is starting to resemble (until recently) the Federal ALP.
Am I right to assume 10 of the 12 board members are up for election or re-election with only Sticks and Lee sitting it out? Would it also be right for me to assume that Sticks and Lee are independent of the factional bickering with Sticks having a tendancy to align himself with the President of the day?
So at the end of the day, an alternative ticket will require 7 members of its ticket or as few as 5 to gain control of the board. Without over -analysing this state of play, it does not seem to be a dificult task to achieve in the current climate.
I am sure some of the current board room members deserve to stay on. We also have on board fresh faces which despite the questionable nature their inclusion on the Carlton board, have lots to offer. This leaves us with prospective well credentialled candidates to come in and be able to influence the election of the president and inspire sufficient confidence in the Club to bring with them corporate support and private funding from wealthy backers. The win win scenario for the club could possibly be having the best performing board members from the various factions with a rival ticket having the controlling interest.
In an ideal world I would love to see the Club organising a forum and inviting financial supporters to listen to and question candidates seeking election. A more informed Carlton cummunity will in the end translate to improved governance and keeps the bastards honest.
