Oh ok, I was just judging his years as I saw them as an AFL player, if you want to factor in age then Murphy's 2006 was only OK, if you want to factor in Murphy's age it was outstanding. I guess I can have another attempt with Fatty factoring in age if that is such an important part to take into account.

Club B&F and considered in contention as AA CHB as a player in a defence constantly under siege = "Ok"?!

Kouta won the B+F last year, was his year better than OK? Look at every club in the league and look at the lack of quality defenders there are, Bowden was named AA CHB!! Someone who shouldn't be even playing in that position. Lance was probably second or third choice at the half way mark and third or fourth choice at the end of the year. Some how that has turned into "almost AA".

And "defence constantly under siege" is just an opportunity for Lance to pick up cheap kicks across half back.

Kouta tied with Kirk for first possessions in the competition in 2005, so yes - for a veteran running around the midfield to lead a stat like that is better than ok, especially since he had bugger all support in the midfield, unless by your reasoning that also somehow made it easier to rack up the stats.

The argument about Lance getting cheap kicks doesn't stack up either, since he was not played as a loose man and probably only had a couple of bags kicked on him.

I don't mind fans talking about ways we can improve, but it's tall poppy syndrome at its worst when it seems that a small group of "supporters" who continually target the guy that was considered by the club to be the best and fairest player on the list this year. Of course Lance can improve, but whether or not we become competitive again will depend on the players ranked 10-25 on our list, not our reigning club champion.
