Congratulations to the Carlton connections at the AFL Hall of Fame tonight!

Robert Walls
In any other team he would probably be considered their best CHF of all time. At Carlton he was still a champion, but one among many.

Needs a better player/coach review than he currnetly has in the Blueseum.

Craig Bradley
Quite simply an amazing footballer. An outside midfielder that played a big part in both the 1987 and 1995 premierships. 375 games for the Blues as well as 90-odd games for Port Adelaide.

John Murphy
Never played a game for the blues but provided a son who will mosty likely follow in his fathers footsteps except in terms of premierships. :-D

Walls glory and pain.
Quote:
Carlton great Walls paid tribute to his wife's courageous fight with cancer, noting her battle to be with him at the induction meant everything.

Quote:
Erin Walls was diagnosed with lung cancer last year despite having never smoked. Wheelchair-bound, she was determined to be by her husband's side on a night his considerable contribution to football was recognised.

And she wants her illness to be a reminder to every young person not to smoke because she knows better then anyone what the ravages of lung cancer can do.``When the cancer was diagnosed, we were told 10-15per cent of lung cancer victims are non-smokers,'' Walls said.

``Of course you think Erin's illness isn't fair. But she doesn't dwell on it.

``She is unable to sleep at night so she sits up watching American television shows. And they upset her greatly because there are people smoking on every show.

``When we go out and she sees people smoking she asks, `Why?' Don't they know what they're doing to themselves?''

Walls admitted to being ``chuffed'' at his induction, although he wondered why, given he never considered himself a ``great player or great coach''.

Will fall on death ears!

Quote:
I regard myself as very fortunate to have been with Carlton.

Hmmm, would other past stars and soon-to-be past stars share this view?

We need someone like Walls back on the board but we now understand why he doesn't have the time.

That's terrible about Walls' wife.

He has been a great contributor to the AFL as player, coach and journalist.

Congratulations Robert Walls - and deeply saddened by the news of your wife's illness, understand what you are going through.

It was late but an appropriate Freudian slip given the topic.

My girlfriend has a Freudian slip (she's a psychoanalyst). She puts it on when she's feeling horny. Freaks me out but at least the beard's in the right spot...
