No No No guys Synbad told us the entire coaching staff had been re-signed for three years.

Agree there needs to be changes.

I have also swung around on Carey, he has impressed me on Fox footy this year.

Triper i said you cant pay out Pagan after just signing him up for a further 3 years and if you did it would cost 2 million dollars.(If the board did they might as well accept responsibility and all commit hari hari)
I also said the coaching panel would come into review.
You, the tripper said... "sack everybody over 25 and the entire MC"

Thats tripper territory... (aka Blue Mark intellectual analysis")

The rest is all survival by you....

You do not want me to cut and paste do you Synbad? But I will take it as a slip of the keyboard during a rant.

Anyways, what is your opinion about the coaching staff?

Isn't this bit a little specious though:

"A stark reflection of the Blues' fortunes with its 11 straight losses between rounds seven and 17 comes in its crowd figures.

With 18 rounds completed this year, Carlton's first nine games drew a total live audience of 405,036 — an average crowd of 45,004.

The second nine games drew a total attendance of 286,737, with the average dropping more than 13,000 a game to 31,859.
"

Fremantle at the G was always going to be a low figure, Western Bulldogs got the best crowd it could have (15000 max makes a hell of a dint in an average) - Brisbane only ever seem to get about 30K to the Dome.....

The scale of Denis's resolve will be either tested or best illustrated if Tony Elshaugh is shown the door.

I'd try to attract Rehn as a ruck coach / ass coach. Madden's not available enough.

I'd also aks Pikey to come down for a few days and whisper in Karl's ear about the opportunities available if he gets his head right.

Well said House. A "little bit specious"? It's Mayor Specious of Speciousville, capital of Speciousland.

Look at who we played in the first 9 rounds...

Roos
Essendon*
Collingwood
Port in SA
Freo at Subi
Hawthorn
Richmond
Geelong
Melbourne

Oh gee I wonder why we got bigger crowds back then, as against playing, as you said, Freo at the G, Sydney at the dome, Bullies in Darwin etc etc.

so Caro, don't you ever try to paint Carlton as bandwagon supporters. The ultimate woodwork crawlers are your own mob from Punt Rd.

Cut n Paste what you said in full and what i have said in full about this over the last 2 weeks BM.
Youll see how ridiculous you are...

No dont take it as a slip. Just put things into its full context.
Every post on the matter.. yours and mine.

How have the coaching staff coached???
Hard to say with such an average list .. but they certainly need more development coaching rather than match day coaching.
Match day coaching is the least of our concenrs at the moment.
We dont have the ammunition to worry about match day coaching..

What we do need is to have kids develop .
Some of them have developed and are developing Mark (see Carrazzo Bentick, Setanta, and simpson in particular) others are going backwards (Sporn,Prenda as examples)
Id have to say its a mixed bag Mark...

Thats what im looking at... not at the stupidity you look at re match day tactics.

Theyre not important at the moment.

Now you are on the development bandwagon, something I have talking about for years. Given that you slammed me for questioning Pagans coaching, saying that you think that the coaching has been a mixed bag just shows that you play the man before actually thinking about what somebody is saying.

In effect you are not really disagreeing with anything I have said.

ie:

That the coaching has been questionable and there needs to be changes within the staff.

That the players have let us down on the field (The only difference is that you think it is one or two players fault, while I think it is a collective responibility).

That the younger players have potential but need further development.

That the board on balance has done a good job.

But given that you like to throw your weight around, it is a shame that you often fall over when you miss your target.

Take Camels advice....."Think...... then post'

Carey is not an option. he's got a cushy lucrative job at Fox.

Ratten will offer a different perpective to Pagan so why not.
Kenny Sheldon?? Been out of the game for a while but he is a proven coach.
Mark Bickley would be someone I'm interested in seeing at the club

Never liked the idea of libba coaching Carlton and I still don't
Be a bit embarassing to sack mitchell if the Ants win the flag

Gary Lyon has a cushy lucrative job at Channel Eddy, but is looking to coach as well.

Some of the ex-players with football ego can't resist the lure of coaching despite the dollars they make (or can make) in the media. I would put Carey in the "football ego" category - and say he will coach, whether its our club or another club, I think he will coach.

In anycase Carey's ego will tell him there is always a media career available to him if he stuffs coaching right up.

Show Liberatore the door.
Bring in Shaun Rhen full time assistant/ruck coach.
Bring in the Storm tackling coach for obvious reasons.

Peter Dean comes in as assistant at the Bullants = Bullants to the top of the table.

Peter Dean takes one training session during the week = we roll Richmond.

Peter Dean has to be an assistant next year.

From an outsiders perspective he has all the ingredients.
Distinguished playing career.
Is one of the boys yet commands respect.
Has a successful coaching record in the minor leagues.
Loves the Navy Blue jumper.
Tells it like he sees it.

I like the idea so much I reckon he'll be the next coach of Carlton after Pagan retires.

Sorry Synbad, I will dumb my posts down for you.

PS Nothing wrong with Sun Tze, you should study his writings, all very enlightening.
