Seriously Brad...it's not that it is an argument against...it is just that it is another thread on the same subject. It has been covered by both camps over and over again.

I might be wrong, but I think advocates of both sides are weary of seeing it...and it could have been joined to an existing thread.[/u]

I agree completely...but none of the tankers complain when another thread is opened advocating playing for picks.

Seriously now.. have a good think about what youre telling us...

Yeah those were my words exactly

Good to see the tankers have a whinge about someone actually examining thier arguements in detail.

Don't like being challanged the tankers, why? Because they know that thier arguement is simplistic and berefit of any real rational basis.

If we are bad and we are then we should take a pick, but to delibertly advocate being bad, then that is, in my view the easy way out and one that has some real danger behind it.

Mark your point about a losing culture is not valid. These kids we are banking our future on are being given a taste of senior footy and then going back to the ants. Carrots may have played most of the year in the seniors but his development is different i believe. We have now seen what he can do in the middle and so has he. His confience after last week must be sky high. The way he played showed he has confidence in his abilities to take players on and to also make the right decisions in his disposal. These kids who are our future may go onto win a premership this year with the Ants. Imagine the effort they will put into the preseason and the air of confidence they will exude. New talent arriving will be of their age and will bond with them more than Campo and Kouta. These kids will instill a winning culture into our new recruits.

I have no arguement with your point Mark, we need to teach the kids to win, thats why 'playing for picks' is so determential to the development of kids.

I hate to say it but there's nothing rational about what you're arguing these days. Last week you wanted to get rid of everyone within the club and effectively make us a Richmond - this week you're going on about culture and how we shouldn't be modelling ourselves on other clubs. God knows what you'll be coming up with next week.

You need to face the facts - we are crap. Anyone that thinks we are playing for picks has their head well and truly hidden in the sand.

Either that or the last 4 years have finally taken their toll and they are slowly going insane.

dannyboy, the indians were choka block priority picks that year and were the up and comers.
The Cowboys were feeling confident with their winning culture but not enough talent shining through.....

BlueMark, have you ever heard of another Greek gentlemen, called King Phyrrus - they coined the term "Phyrric Victory" after him - you want to teach our young list to win the next meaningless 4 games - thats fine - then you explain the dud re-inforcements they will be playing with next year.

Sorry MM - someone should have explained it to you earlier.

This is "an opinion".

Rational debate is saved for "an intellectual analysis".

Sing along with GWS...

Ten little, nine little, eight little Indians
Seven little, six little, five little Indians
Four little, three little, two little Indians
One little Indian boy.

NB: Remove one little Indian for each win by the CFC between now and the end of the season. :?

Synbad, ridicule used in a debate in a sure sign that you have no counter arguement.

Actually I can not remember the last time you actually out forward any sort of rational debate.

You must think you win a hell of a lot of arguments, BM?

ps your signature is ridiculous. doing as you outline you'd never improve your lot in life, struggling away every day on the same basis. the PP debate / come last debate provides for a way forward, however marginally better that may be, but improvement is / will happen.

Mackays Mistress, re-read what I wrote. I did not say the club is playing for picks, my arguement is against the theory of 'playing for picks' Yes last week I slammed the players and coach, my position has not changed in that regard. In fact in this thread I propose what we should be doing regards culture. ie installing a 'winning culture'

I am not being patronising here but I do wish people would read and comprehend what I have written before replying. BTW you are not the only one that has comprehension difficulties.

Or that people are simply bored out of their brains with the endless stream of drivel.

Resorting to ridicule is possibly the only sane option.

You know it makes sense... :D

To be honest Mosley it is difficult to debate people who first arguement is to resort to ridicule. At the end of the day I don't rate what they say at all. Now someone who disagrees with me and is able to put up reasoned arguements against what I have written, earns my respect.

Otherwise its

BlueMark, I don't need to go back and re-read your post. You could write a thesis and it wouldn't change my opinion one little bit.

We're crap and we need those picks - end of story.
