On top of his dozen possessions and 3 goals he also set up 2 more.
As he breaks the 50 game barrier I get the feeling he's going to be immensely powerful for the team. If we can get Garlett in the same vein as Yarran & Betts all of a sudden Carlton has an indigenous elite brigade that makes a mockery of Essendon*.
QFT. If Yarran continues to improve at this rate and Eddie manages to find consistency, then those two alone will form one of the most lethal duos in the AFL. It's hard to explain but they are actually capable of anything, at any time. If Garlett manages to get even close then we have yet another trump card up our sleeves. Those three in the forward line, all firing, would be insane. Remember how we struggled matching up on the small quick forwards, just ONE in a forwardline, imagine those three. For one you would never feel remotely safe as a defender with the ball in your hands and two, goals would come from everywhere. If one of our talls doesn't manage to pull down a mark there are those three hovering for the crumbs.
In 2-3 years we are going to be giving the premiership a SERIOUS tilt. And we are going to have these rare weapons that others simply don't have.. hypothetically, say things go well with our game plan and the bulk of our youngsters come on as we please, how are you going to handle the mobility of our talls, our supreme rucking brigade, the elite talent in the midfield and our indigenous forward contingent? flower. Just things you don't see in many sides ever.
