Don't give me this "holier than thou" bullshit line.

No I don't believe they would...but you watch them drag you down for hoping your team wins.

pssst...they're not supporters

the thing is...its not that im worried about collingwood getting their "saviour" i just dont want them in the way of us taking our kid...

if we win next saturday:
Pick 1: Hawthorn
Pick 2: Carlton
Pick 3: Collingwood
Pick 4: Hawthorn
Pick 5: Carlton
Pick 6: Collingwood
Pick 7: Essendon* (or other)

if we lose next saturday:
Pick 1: Carlton
Pick 2: Hawthorn
Pick 3: Carlton
Pick 4: Hawthorn
Pick 5: Collingwood
Pick 6: Essendon* (or other)

so as you see...its not just about collingwood getting their saviour...if they do get a PP...we lose the first pick...and our second pick gets bumped down to No.5 instead of No.3.....myself and everyone here would agree that option 2 (losing next week) is much more attractive in terms of where we sit on the draft table....

REALLY pj I'd never have guessed! :o

You're not worried and scared of Collingwood but you actively hope that they win games so as to avoid the PP, thereby being 'concerned' about Collingwood's fortunes. Or am I wrong and that you want Collingwood to lose games?!?

im not scared about collingwood getting the PP as such...im more worried that if they do get the extra pick they will get the player we should have got, therfore altering our future....

Don't let anti-Carlton supporters drag you down Truebluebrad. I feel sorry for them, they have lost track of what footy is about.

That is a bit weird.... collingwood are our biggest rival... which is why u lot are having such a big whinge about the PP... but yet you would love for them to beat us.
I would like to see your reaction if we beat them.
Disappointed and disgusted in you PJ!

That feeling is a product of the system that is in place at the moment.
Hopefully it is changed come the start of next season or we will have another year of these sorts of threads.

if that is what you believe then you have no right to support the club when all of this pays off....
when our crop of talent from this year is winning us games you have absolutely no right to be a carlton supporter....

So you're happy to admit you're not strong enough to stay true to winning and are happy to let 'the system' drag you down to its level?

No.
What I am saying is that while I think the system is a negative system, I think we are stupid if we don't take advantage of it at the moment.

THis is a system that the AFL has in place ... both the Hawks and Pies are eying off Draft pics even making selections now to rest key players .... so if other teams are adopting this attitude how is wrong that the Blues adopt it.. All 3 teams deem that the season is finished ... Also that getting 2 Picks in top 5-6 is better than 1. Getting first pick is better than 2nd or 3rd ..

The Hawks i know are not bothered if they win another match .. The Pies well they have prob adopted that thinkin last week..... Blues have been adopting as well and why not this is what the AFL has done.... THey have to change this system because next year it will be different teams doing the same thing... Has been happening in past 6 years as teams know the benefits of getting last and the PP.. Direct your anger at the AFL for having a stupid system that rewards a Team LOOSING 5 GAMES OR LESS.

Change the system and this will not happen anymore end of story.

Sit down!
Everybody is here to support Carlton, we just have different opinions on what matters and what doesn't. We aren't saying, that we dont care at all if collingwood get PP's, we are just more relaxed about it and we just dont think that should be the thing worrying everybody. Carlton wont miss out.
Wouldn't u prefer to build Carlton up to beat teams who have decent players, than to beta teams who have a shit of a side!? Good on Collingwood if they get decent players out of the draft.... lets hope we do aswell, so that we can build them up and kick the crap out of collingwood next year!!!!!!!!!

Just another thing, does anyone think that Fev will be suspended for the incident in the first quarter?

I honestly don't. I think it was the Port guys fault.

While I don't agree with what the Shag said, what right does anyone have to tell someone that they aren't a supporter because of their opinion?

Are we living in some dictatorship world where we are labelled an outcast if we disagree with someone's opinion?

Wakelin threw a punch at Fev and Fev went to ground. Anyone know if he was reported? Also once the 2 went to ground it looked like Wakelin was eye gouging Fev.

Not so much as a free kick for that right hook to the face.

It started as a wrestle on the ground and it looked very much like Wakelin got his fingers into Fev's eye region. When they got up they were still wrestling and Fev threw one or two jumper punches. Wakelin broke free and swung a wild one which copped Fev in the head and he went down. Probably looked worse than it actually was, but you'd think Wakelin would get offered at least 4-5 weeks for both acts and then have it argued down to one week at the trib.

Fev might get 1-2 as they Schwab was quoted earlier in the week that they were going to get tough on jumper punches.

There were a lot of filthy acts by the Power today. It tends to happen when the ability starts to wane, but really Port's been a pretty dirty team for quite some time.

This is disgusting.

I'm very diappointed in you PJ. Of all people.

Why the hell didn't I stick to my main board boycott.

The Carlton I once knew and loved seems to have been replaced by a miserable bunch of sycophants willing to concede defeat to our most hated enemy, all for a lousy draft pick.

Marc Murphy could be the greatest player of all time by the length of the street and he won't be worth the prostitution that's going on amongst some of us at the moment.

I'm putting my tail between my legs and dragging my sorry arse back to talkingstuff.
