I agree with both of these.

Which 2-3 years are you talking about then?

after reading that line, then looking straight at your avatar it made me laugh... :)

i never said these picks/players will have an immediate impact..
but if we miss out on them it will stall our development and probably cause us more of what we have experienced in the last 4 years...
in short, losing the picks from salary cap breaches stalled our development...finishing 11th last year stalled our development (but also gave our players a winning experience) ....missing out on a PP this year could stall our development further...
this is what i have been trying to say for months...but as PJ kindly pointed out i probably went about it the wrong way[/quote]

by winning any more games for the rest of this season, Carlton is signing itself to at least 2-3 more years of losing winnable games and being beaten by poor oppositions....

2-3 more years, or 2-3 more weeks...thats the way i see it...

Ok, let me try again...which 2-3 years of losing winnable games are you talking about?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but its the difference between a #1 and a #2 selection which will cause us to lose these winnable games?

I saw the film Salo just over ten years ago now and it was the most punishing and diseheartening thing I have witnessed previous to Carlton 2005. Fortunately when the credits finally rolled on that awful film, and the audience sat in stunned silence, in a state of post-torture relief, some bloke yelled from the back row, " Oi! I've got a fat!."

Hope that helps.

its more than that...im talking about if we lose the priority pick...not if we lose the no.1 pick...it doesnt matter anymore...after thinking it over i dont really care what happens the next few weeks...because things tend to turn out as they should, and if history tells us anything its that carlton are supposed to be the best side in the league and whether or not we get priority picks, eventually we will be on top again...we are the navy blues...!

if that is what you believe then you have no right to support the club when all of this pays off....
when our crop of talent from this year is winning us games you have absolutely no right to be a carlton supporter....

Get a grip on yourself Shag!

Never heard so much crap in my life. Think about what you are saying before you start writing this sort of rubbish.

No Shag, but people can stop telling others that they don't deserve to follow the club or enjoy in future success...or that understanding the position we have been placed in re: needing as much quality talent as we can get is perverted.

Argue the merits (or anti-merits :? ) of each others opinions, but don't rubbish it just because it is different to yours.

I like to think that all our posters are intelligent enough to understand the difference between arguing or ridiculing...but I'm beginning to wonder.

And by the way...whether you were looking for a win or a loss today, how good were our kids today? :D They are finally starting to put it together. Another year under Pagan will be interesting.

Very much so.

Am loving seeing MBS, Your Boy AB, Fish, T-Bird, Eddie, Carrots etc etc flourish under Pagan.

And to think we have more to come with the likes of Razz, HBK, Russ and Blackers developing in the VFL.

We have a lot to look forward to.

but deano's comment about me selling my soul is fine?

i realise how pathetic my comment sounded..but have you ever been cornered by 2 people who are just as determined to prove a point as you are...?

Your heart and your head arguing always makes for a nonsense conversation doesnt it. The heart is the reason people stay in abusive relationships or have affairs with guys like Chopper Reid whilst the head tells ya to stay away.

Given the joy and the warmth Carlton have given my heart over the last 37 years Ill let my head rule for 2005

Sorry shag, I didn't make myself clear enough.

I presented both sides of the argument (don't deserve to support the club, and the "happy we lost" group) and said they are both going to far in their style.

And it is not just directed to ths one thread.
