I hope not Frank.
The game is totally irrelevant from a win point of view.
They have 9 senior blokes out, they are playing for picks.
For the future of the carlton future club we badly need to lose.

Given the Collingwood personnel not playing and giving them the early break - ie pulling didak and tarrant in the last few weeks so that they havent a forward line means that they dont win - only one club is really going for the win and it isnt the carringbush - rocca is due back but they have put him on ice as well
Lets not enter into philosophy as to the merits of whether we win or lose - as an objective fact I dont reckon that the side that they put on the park on saturday will beat us
Hawthorn are adopting a similar strategy 12 players out - williams their only real goalkicker opting for operation now rather than later

What is the difference between pick 1 and 3 and a wooden spoon for all posteriry or picks 2 and 5 no spoon and beating the filth??

We will not lose a priority pick by winning this week!!!!

We will lose the leverage that comes with having the first pick in the PSD though.

Thank you!!
I'd rather have pick 1 & 3 in ND and pick 1 in the PSD. Hell of a lot better then picks 2 and 5
Thats enough incentive for me to take the golden spoon.

NO NO NO AND NO!
C'MON PEOPLE! Didn't you get a little sad when we got the first ever spoon?
I understand why you want the picks - I understand why we "need" to lose to get them! But I can't understand how people "WANT" to lose - regardless of "The System and how we can't be to blame if we use what we're able to".....

Lost this week, pies lose PP, and then beat Bombers next week (feel just as good as beating Pies) which get us off the bottom of the ladder, but keeping the PP.

The perfect scenario!

Perhaps the ball will be bounced to start the game, and no-one will move..
and then we could have a game of, first one to blink looses...or is that wins..

So if we blink we lose, or win?

This is not a no tankers v tankers thread -on any objective analysis of the teams for this game -it is not likely that the carringbush can win - only won last time because of rocca and tarrant and neither will be playing
Not impossible for them to win but very unlikely
Collingwood have fraser didak tarrant cloke rocca richards out !

On paper we should win, the Pies are missing 1/2 their senior players. They're not without a chance though.

I dunno if we'll smash'em frank but I tend to agree that we'll win.
We're at full strength with a bit of confidence and finding some form while the pies...well they're in a pretty sorry state.
I'm inclined to think that we might be a show to win a couple of games so I'm preparing myself for the fact that me might end up with just one top ten pick. If it happens so be it....life goes on.

In keeping with the thread title, if we win this game they'll make a movie out of it: Four Points and a Funeral(ours!)

Collingwood can't beat Carlton this week :?: Excuse me, they lost by only a goal to the Kangaroos last week. On that form they'll be more than competitive.

You have to say objectively if both sides play to their capacity Carlton will win- it is not impossible and given it is wakelin and burns 200th game they may have added incentive but they have a huge number of influential players missing
It is unlikely though that they will win but having said that one of the worst days of supporting the blues was at waverley in the 1994 finals when geelong lost 4 or 5 of their best players before the game- aaron lord played his first and best game ever and geelong beat us comfortably

Equally you might say to me that a couple of weeks ago I suggested we would beat the hawks and of course I was wrong we were horrible that day and perhaps we will be horrible on saturday night but recent form line suggests that we wont
