Look Tanking aginst Collingwood would of been to obviouse.....

You just couldn't get away with it!

Dennis knew that the Hawks were a fair chance to win today, and that next week would be a better game to tank, along with North the following week......

Essendon* will play better next week mark my words!

Presto all is well

I know how bad we are.

Then why is it that you want to beat Essendon*?
Do you want to feel good about yourself for a few hours while you give it to your Essendon* supporting mates?
They'll laugh at us if we beat them.
Why? Because they know how shit we really are and what we need to do to become better...yet, some of us here don't.

One of my very best friends father was a wrestler in the late 60s and the 70s.
His brother is 'Mr Damage' who more or less runs it here.

I know im right.. :P

Though when their old man did it back in World Championship Wrestling days with Jack Little .. alot of it wasnt fake.. just the result.!!

Prez,

Do you know what Pick 1 in the PSD means?

I do it means another wooden spoon, a chance on drafting an unproven potential talent, star in the making, who would prefer to come to a team who doesn't believe in winning for pride but tanking for the system.

I just woner if Murphy was reading this site, what would he think of us as supporters ?

After all our problems and lack of talent run deep, well that's what i've read all over the place, and to some degree i agree. Seriously why would Murphy want to come and play for us. An idea for another topic of conversation.

Drafts = No Guarantees

But as i've said before and i'll say it again, we still need to win another game, and really if we are that bad what are we worried about, surely we can't beat Essendon*, let alone the Roos. We don't need to tank we have integredity in playing to win, and then we lose anyway. Unlike one Club, and the more i think about it, i'm glad we beat Collingwood, after yesterday i have even less respect for them.

Less Respect of very little respect = No Pride=Collingwwod.

We all have opinions and views and everyone is entitled to them, Bag me for mine if you like but i'll leave you with this.

If you don't play to win, then what do you play for ??
"tankers" its the system that has made you this way and i for one will never question your passion for our club.

I believe we'll lose the next two, not because we're tanking but because we are not yet good enough, so come seasons end, everyone will be united once again. :-D :-D :-D

PSD = Pre season draft............nothing to do with M Murphy

Pride? Like an alcoholic who doesn't want to admit he has a problem!

We lost our rescpect the day we cheated Tractor Boy..

And Murphy will go to any of 3 clubs tanking. ..
Collingwood and Hawthorn could have played better than us for the season. In fact we have the worst list clearly.

He deserves to come to us.. we need him most and he needs the challenge of helping turn this great club around .

I am not easily impressed Big Sinner but i really are impressed now.Your best mates dad was the one and only Mr Damage Con Iovactivides or something like that.Im really blown away by that. But i still reckon the best i ever saw was Canada's greatest athlete Iron Mike Sharp.Never saw Mike ever win a match but he always put up a good fight.Always took it up to the Hulk and his likes butgot mugged by those cheating refs who always made sure the goodie goodies got over the line.

Synbad i understand you, some don't but i think i'm at least able to comprehend what you say and believe. I think that the smartest player in all of this is M.Murphy. If the lad came out and said yes or No to Brisbane a lot of this talk would be less significant, especially in a year of a weaker draft.
Why is it that he has not yet stated his intentions if indeed he is willing to come to any of the bottom three. It makes me wonder if he has made up his mind and its either X Victorian club or Brisbane. If he doesn't want to come to us and has "cut a deal" with say a Collingwood maybe if we do finish last , it still might be shattering if he then came out and said i'm going North.

Have we really looked after him, have we sent the big guns out to visit him , have we gone out of our way to entince him ? I hope so. I just hope he doesn't do a Platten on us.

As for respect and cheating, you're right but how good was it whilst it lasted. :-D :-D :-D

PSD = Pre season Draft..... Correct nothing to do with Murphy...

But alot to do with money and who might be available. Look at Simmonds Overpaid under achiver at Richmond and Knoble, the hack we missed out on.
There are still no certs in the PSD and at the moment the PSD is looking like James and Shaw. I hope Effes you know something i don't cause at the moment i don't know of any stars looking like they are headed into the PSD. :-D :-D :-D

Mickstar yep thats the bloke. Not my best mate but one of my best mates.
Been getting into the POW in StKilda for free for as long as i remember.. ...'Mr Damage' runs the joint.(keeps the pl,kace pretty civil with his assortment of wrestling mates like 'Bully' and 'The Ox' who are all great blokes.
I know him VERY well but his middle brother i know alot better.

And the 'Golden Greek' was a champ in the ring in those days and noone to sneeze at out of it.

Some of the stuff they did back then for 'extra' cash was mind boggling.

Tractor Boy Marc Murphy will go number 1 in this years draft.

Because he enjoys free dinners at expensive restaurants?

Ah those wrestling memories... Love them....You guys must be as old or older than me.. :-D :-D

If MM goes one i'm still confident we'll get him. We will not win 2 games we might win one, but i doubt it.. :-D

Yes we have

But then, so have Brisbane Collingwood and Hawthorn. It's a crap shoot.

Drop Thornton next week.

If we wanted to lose last night why didn't we leave Thornton on Buckley? He was getting a bath.

100% spot on Synbad. Until this week when we beat the Bombers. If that happens they are going to lose a lot of support.

Respected commentator Garry Lyon joined the debate last night, saying something had to be done once supporters were starting to barrack against their own teams.

"It's ridiculous . . . it puts undue pressure on clubs, players and supporters," Lyon said.

He likened talk about picks to a bad smell hovering over the competition.

For once I agree with Lyon.

This issue is also hovering like a bad smell over TC. My suggestion to the mods: consolidate all this into one "tanking thread" and do not allow any new ones to be created. There are like 50 out there at the moment.

Also must say I am thinking of taking leave from TC until after the season - the tone is so bad - reads like a C'wood and Richnmond forum.

Disappointed I am... Even some posters I usual respect are more focussed on abusing people then adding any thing new to the debate. Seems like quite a few "old" hands are taking a rest at rthe moment. Good idea it seems. Quality of this forum is going down the drain....

Footy is a passionate game.
Supporting your club is passionate.

Thats what footy does.
Theres abit of sledging but once you all catch up you go for a beer and its forgotten about. (Well i usually dont take anything that happens in here personally)
Re the Gary Lyon thing.. he maybe right. But Melbourne have had their fill .. and StKilda have certainly taken FULL advantage.
To be a shithouse club and then not get given the helping hand now would be ridiculous.

They should have thought about this earlier.

Having more quality posters leave the forums isn't going to help raise the standard....it'll only see it go further south.

Precisely TBB...if you do not like the "tank/don't tank" arguments...ignore them ocmpletely...start up your own thread discussing something you find interesting.

you might be surprised how many people will join you and how interesting it can be. 8)
