Embley got off on his bump on Maxwell!

I am glad that it was Maxwell he got but how was it any different to Jamo's? Channel 10 news said that Carlton intend to appeal and have asked for their video of it.

Of course in all seriousness Maxwells injury was pretty bad so I hope he recovers in time to be inflicted a different kind of misery in R3.

I hope Maxwell is back in round 3. Will give our mids more options to bomb it long to. :donk:

I flower cannot believe this. Elbow, shoulder, everything tucked in and hit the opposition fair and square. How the flower are we supposed to toughen up and play aggressive football when as soon as we raise our head we get this shit thrown at us by the AFL.

Last year Kennedy put some-one out for a half a year and evey-one turned a blind eye, this year Embley put Maxwell in hospital with a similar hit and ... nothin!

The system at it's best, working against us again. :banghead:

I think Kennedy last year down in Tassie was considered to be very lucky not to be rubbed out

I only saw the Maxwell incident very briefly but i dont think head contact was made whereas Jamo did, thats where I think the difference was

I haven't had the chance to see Jamo and his hit. Saw the Maxwell incident and thought it was a fair bump. I'm guessing if they are similar they should be judged the same. Guess Jamo had more malice in his hit as a guess only. Will keep my eyes out for the real view.

Who said Gibbs lacked any real interest or intensity! $900 to fund another Ricky Nixon inquiry and still have some doubts he's not at best a cynical opportunist or at worst ready for the Italian Prime Ministry.
Jamo deserves a week for not 'getting low' AS LONG AS THEY ARE CONSISTENT but two is garbage (sorry Junk)..but it's only Ablett FC. It's as if the AFL owned them or something

Just saw the vision on Sports Tonight (I think they probably referred to him as Carlton's Matthew Jamison).....reckon we should appeal, nothing in it. If he's guilty, then the shepherd is all but done with.

Just saw it as well.. What is the game coming too when a player could be rubbed out for a fair and square bump.

I still don't understand the angst. It's common knowledge that no matter how correct your technique is, you hit the head, you get a holiday. It sucks, but that's just how it is.

But it looks like we'll appeal anyway, which to me is an invitation to give Jamo three weeks (meaning we'll have a weakened defense against Colonwood).

Jamieson didn't jump into him, as Embley did to Maxwell. What was a major contributing factor IMO, was the kid's lack of awareness of who was where. If he'd braced himself knowing a bump is coming, he'd probably have been ok.

Very Koszitske ish.

The one I'm annoyed about is Ellard. I haven't seen the footage, but everyone seems totally baffled by that one. But presents an early opportunity for Curnow.

Regardless of how absurd and ridiculous the suspension is, and let’s face it the AFL are pretty much sanctioning that footballers run around the field without any awareness of players around them and essentially not to expect any sort of contact which goes against the very grain of what this code was and should be, Carlton are pretty much leading Jamo to a 3 week suspension.

The way the MRP have been instructed to assess any player that receives even a skerrick of a head injury or concussion regardless if they were on the end of a perfectly executed shepherd and essentially the only reason they have received injury is because of their complete lack of awareness and self-care, is that the player MUST receive a penalty.

The one common denominator of AFL administration in the modern era is a complete lack of common sense and here we have another prime example of this trait in action! :banghead:

The part i found most interesting was that Luke Shuey only got 93.75 points for his HEAD HIGH BUMP on Keefe who was in hospital with pins and needles. Repeat..........HEAD HIGH BUMP.
The inconsistency is a joke.
