MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!!
CFC are DESPERATE for an extra 10,000 members, my sister is involved with the club on occassion in a corporate sense and knows Jeanne well, and it seems the only thing she's concerned about is getting more members.
I think its a major stain that we only have 38,000 while the filth have nearly double and the scum have at least 50+ (i think, dont quote me)
i know onfield success is a major factor, particularly with the filth, but how does that explain the scums big numbers??
the inner circle at the filth attribute most of it to Fat Eddie which is probably true because they had double as many as us BEFORE they won the flag anyway.
So TC'ers HOW DO WE THINK THE CLUB CAN ACHIEVE ITS MEMBERSHIP GOAL?
THOUGHTS ANYONE??
(do we need a high profile President? Do we need to lower the cost of mship? Do we need to reach the next generation, maybe through schools/auskick etc?
should we sign the first ever chinese player and get 10,000 'new' australians on board? should we give charlie sheen a game?
high profile supporters?
From memory I reckon we dropped about 10,000 when we traded Fev..............!!!!!!
coincidence? or the loss of thousands of Kids carlton hero hence less interest.
As far as marketing goes what are we thinking of the 'NO PASSENGERS' campaign, personally coming from a branding/advertising bground I think it SUCKS
ive heard a lot of people ask 'what the hell does that mean'
i honestly couldnt explain it myself.
SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
nb. manchester united have 193,000 (at around $35 per year for adults), bayern munich have 115,000
the yankees and cubs account for 50% of all mship and merchandise sales in the ENTIRE U.S
MCC have 95,000 for crying out loud
SO, on field success aside, HOW DO WE DO THIS PEOPLE?????????
I think the answer is indicated in your post.
The way you tell the tale of your sister and Jeannie...
the only thing they are concerned about are members.
I read 'numbers', where it should be 'people' or 'valued members'.
It's like this little inner sanctum that believe they are Carlton..and everyone else just serves them.
Maybe that is not true, but we are not treated as though we were essential to the lifeblood of the club.
I feel ,as a member, that I'm just peeking over the fence at the lucky few who get to really be a part of the club.
Again..I say, that's my perception,and feeling.
Not neccessarily how things really are.
Other clubs seem to do the inclusive thing a lot better.
Having said that, the new Essendon* campaign is pretty bad.
You are really asking for it when you have a whole bunch of Dons supporters saynig 'I'm One.'
yep..we know you are.
